  • What does the code on the Verizon outdoor box mean?

There is a Verizon box at the back edge of my property with the letter/numbers "C 25 6" on it, along with a picture of a phone. Can anyone tell me what this code means? We are being told thay we do not have the right type of wires run for DSL or cable internet, even though the people that live at "C 25 1" have access. I hate Verizon.

  • What are some good, simple cupcake, brownie or cookie recipes for school Autumn Festivals?

My daughter is having a Fall Festival at her school and I need some inspiration for a simple recipe (that is also cheap) to make for her class of 26 kids. I don't want to do anything pumpkin flavored because some of the kids don't like it. I'm also trying to steer clear of peanut butter and tree nuts. If you have any "tried and true" recipes that you can send my way, I would appreciate it!

  • I need recipes for spooky Halloween apothecary jars. Long question. Suggestions?

I am making homemade Halloween apothecary jars with odd stuff inside of them so I can use them as props for a party. I have the labels made, but I need help making recipes for in the jar. Please get creative. If you can add anything to the already made jars, have at it! Here is what I have so far and below that is what I need help with:

"Mermaid Hair" -- Pulled apart pieces of yarn and put them in a jar with seashells.

"Nightmare Dust" -- Baking soda dyed dark purple with glittery sparkles in it. Can't really add much to this.

"Ear of Troll" -- Dried up orange, cantaloupe and guacamole rinds that have been rubbed with dirt.

"Hex No. 23" (to cause impotence) -- Thick stick with a name written on it and wrapped in black felt. Wrapped with a stem from a holly bush. Also in the jar is an incantation, a few holly leaves and berries and a vintage wedding photograph and a lock of hair (sorry Barbie!).

The ones I haven't finished are below. My ideas are listed, but I am looking for help to make them GREAT!

"Eye of Newt" -- Thinking about using peppercorns since they would hold up for a while in some kind of colored water. Brown maybe?

"Dragon's Breath" -- I'm thinking of using some kind of yard weeds and leaves and singing (slightly burning them) them before putting them in the jar. I need suggestions for other items to include.

"Love Spell" -- I know I want to make the water purple. I think I will also add a fake rose. Any other suggestions?

"Wool of Bat" -- The tutorial I saw suggested using pulling feathers off the "bone" and fluffing them to make it look like fur. I am not touching dead bird feathers and I am trying to do this with stuff we have around the house. Maybe shred up some black felt?

"Witch's Brew" -- The label I made says "Type O+" and "Extra Clotted" so I need something that won't break down, but will look like some kind of nasty blood in this jar for as many years as possible.

"Truth Serum" -- No idea what I want to do with this one. As long as it hold up for a few years, I am open to suggestions.

  • Can anyone give me a good, but inexpensive, recipe for an appetizer?

I am looking for an appetizer that can be made in a crock pot that is relatively inexpensive. I am also looking to use up an abundance of regular Jewish rye bread (not the little cocktail stuff). I would also like something that most people will eat since the crowd that I am making it for is fairly simple in their preferences. Also, please don't suggest Reuben dip (even though it's what I would prefer) because the corned beef is kind of pricey. Any other suggestions? Links preferred. Thanks! Points to the winner.

  • What kind of bird is brown/grey with a red head and black triangle on it's breast?

I saw a bird in my yard (in Pennsylvania) this morning that I can't identify. It had a brown or greyish body, a red head and a black triangle with white edging on it's breast/throat area. It had a long beak, which leads me to think it is some kind of woodpecker but I can't seem to find any images of this particular bird. It is definitely not a red-headed woodpecker. Can anyone point me in the right direction or suggest a website that has a comprehensive list of woodpeckers?

  • Looking for a recipe for stuffed Green Flying Saucer Biscuits?

I saw a recipe the other day for some kind of Halloween Dinner for kids that featured a biscuit that was stuffed and turned into a green flying saucer type thing. It used flaky biscuit dough that you peeled apart and then you put broccoli and cheddar on one half of the biscuit and pressed another half of the biscuit on top to make something that looked like a flying saucer. You then mixed eggs and green food coloring and brushed it on the top. I need to find the recipe so I know how long to bake them and to make sure I'm not missing any ingredients. There was a picture included with the recipe and they looked like little green flying saucers. The name was something to do with aliens, flying saucers or UFO's. I can't find it anywhere. Help would be appreciated!

  • I have unidentified Westmoreland milk glass...?

I recently came into possession of some Westmoreland milk glass. I am having trouble figuring out some things for two of the items. The links to the photos are below. On the first one, I cannot figure out what kind of dish it is. I have spent countless hours surfing the web and still can't find an answer. It has the WG marks but I am unable to figure out what it is. The second one may not even be Westmoreland. I can't identify the pattern or what it is. I think it's some kind of candy dish but I'm not sure. If anyone knows anything about Westmoreland glass or can tell me a website that may help me figure it out, I would appreciate the help. Thanks!
