I had California income for 2014, which I filed correct California tax forms for that year. For 2015, I had no California income, and did not file any forms for California. I had no property in California and no ties. Recently, I am looking to purchase a house in California, that I will own and my parents will reside in.

My confusion is have I lost residency in California? If I purchase a home in California, I will not be residing in, will this cause any red flags to California.

I guess my main confusion resides in the fact that, I heard once you lose residency, and you return to California, the state can track you for all back taxes you didnt file. Therefore, if I get out-of-country income, and I supposed to pay California tax on this income? If I am not required to pay taxes, then I can make an amendment to file appropriate tax returns for California.

Im new to Mac coming from windows(and never going back). I need to switch windows but cannot seem to find the correct shortcuts. On windows cmd key (or apple key) and tab would switch windows.

This shortcut switches between group of windows. So if i have multiple Chrome windows open and a microsoft word window, I can switch between the active Chrome window and the Word window... How can I switch between multiple Chrome windows (I do mean windows and not tabs).

I just became a naturalized American and will be traveling to Pakistan. Previously, I had a valid Pakistani passport with something called a NICOP card. I traveled to Pakistan (obviously) without visa and just showed this card to the customs counter in Pakistan.

Now that I have an American passport, how would this play out? Can I still use this card while going back? Do I need a visa? I saw something called POC card. Is this necessary to apply for if you still have your NICOP card?

I know the obvious response is 'yes, you need to apply for POC now' but please, responses from experience only! If you were in the same situation, what did you do?

I have a grandfather who is visiting my aunt in Chicago. He became very ill and had to be admitted into a hospital. He’s from a poor country and didn’t have any traveler insurance or anything..My aunt is afraid that his hospital bill will come under her name because she went with him to admin him into the hospital and the staff requested she prove she lives in Chicago (providing her utility bills).

Someone told her to file permanent residency for my grandfather, therefore, he would be able to get Medicare... but this doesn’t make sense to me. Why would he need to wait for preeminent residency status to be approved?

#1 How can a hospital obligate another person to pay for someone else's bills.

#2 There have to be many people who get into the same situation... what happens to them when they get sick and are here on a visit visa... do they not get admitted into a hospital... obviously not!

My first thought was why do you have to go through the process of applying for premanent residency... it isnt like hes here illegally.. and also this is what we pay for.. Im in california, and every month a certain portion is taken out for mediCAL... and im sure she also has medicare taken out her paycheck... so my grandfather can get medicare to take care of the bills.. He doesn't plan on staying in US, hes here for a few more months. Is this correct? anyone also went through this situation?

I just bought my first motorcycle and found while riding other motorcylcist waving as they pass by (same or opposite direction). I usually dont feel conftrable taking my hand off the handel since im a noob, so I just not so they can see me return the wave.

Question is... I have a sports bike (Honda) and Ive only scene other sport bikers wave. Now im hearing bikers on Harleys would rather flip off sports bikes than wave...is this true? Since no one on a harley (or american built bike) ever waved at me, I just wont even initiate a wave if seeing them... Any thoughts?

I remembered etrade at one point had this think where you can invest in stocks using fake money... after a period of time, you can tell if you make money or not...

We tried this in high school about 10 years ago, i dont know if they still have this. Anyone know?

We have a small retail business that my father runs. The business is currently under my name but now I'm buying a house and because of the mortgage, I would now like to transfer it to my father's name.

So question is how can I legally transfer the business to his name? I don't want to go through a broker and take it through escrow, etc. Please help...

About the business: its a clothing store, location is in a mall, rented. All store information is under my name.

It seems people whose tax refund was authorized on 03/11 have began receiving their returns. Some received their return on Tuesday morning and some on Wednesday morning. Can any one please tell us if they received their return today (Thursday)? if so what date were you authorized?

I just checked my status and it says the refund was "Authorized" on Friday. I filed electronically so I need to allow 10 business days. If anyone received it, how long did it take for you to get the return after it was "authorized"?

So, last Friday, the state apparently began releasing the tax refund checked. There was this big hurray about the 'checks being in the mail'. I filed mine late January just so i can get mine sooner, and I have yet to receive it. I just checked 'Where is my tax refund' website and they're stating it may take another 25 business days!!! So the question is has anyone gotten their return yet?

I'm really confused with my career right now, and I want to be sure of it before its too late...

I graduated from college with a BS degree in computer science 3 years ago and since, I have had 2 jobs. First job lasted 1 year, i liked it to a point, but it was stressful. I wasn't bad at it because I was still learning, but I wasn't the best programmer. It wasn't that i hated it, it was just stressful - so I thought i hated it. I left and got a technical support job with another (bigger) company. I simply hate this job. The difference between this and the previous job is not just hate working at it, but I am not good with it. I constantly make mistakes, therefore, I'm working much more than i should because i have to fix them. I cannot think about solutions to issues this job requests (either out of inexperience or inability). I've even stopped pushing myself at taking on new projects. I just do what i am assigned to do and that's it.

From childhood, I've had a dream of being in air force pilot (its just a childish dream) but im starting to even consider that now - but I keep thinking its still childish.

Is it just me? or is it my job? or is it my career? Is there councilor I can talk to about this, or something that can guide me in what to look for. Because I know i was something different, but I just don't know what it is...

Okay so it took a year's worth of work but i finally got a total of 20 negative accounts (spread over the 3 bureaus) off my credit. I gave them hell the whole year.

One thing I havn't been able to get removed is a judgement against me. So i wanted to ask has anyone tried to remove judgements. I've been working on it this whole time, and they always verify it and close the request. Has anyone had any success?

Please... no negative comments. Dont tell me 'its not right to challeng an account or it wont work if it's actually my account.' I'm not looking for a guilt trip, and I've already got them removed.

Just need this pesky judgement removed. :-(

I've gone shooting the range twice ... and I got hooked. Ive been using my friends 38 revolver but I want to get my own gun. His 38 isn't really intriguing to me, I would like a little more bang (although we never used magnum ammo). and I would like to get a semi-automatic (for the looks). Its only going to be used in the range and (obviously home protection).

What kind of handgun would you recommend? By the way, my budge isn't a lot. I would like to get a pre-owned weapon to save money, but Im considering anything around $600. Keep in mind, im a new-bee, I was looking at desert eagle because I have seen that gun so many times in the movies ;-)

I know we should send a credit report while disputing something from the bureaus but do we have to send the entire report. I have a 16 page report !! LOL yes 16 pages and want to know if I should just copy the page that contains the incorrect information or copy the entire report.

Please note, I’m asking this because through my experience credit bureaus love to prolong the process by stating there isn't enough information and I need to submit additional documents.
