If an alka-seltzer tables (main ingredients are citric acid and sodium bicarbonate) is placed in water, the citric acid and sodium bicarbonate react to for trisdoium citrate. However, if the pill is not placed in water and rather directly into an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid does the citric acid and sodium bicarbonate still react or does the sodium bicarbonate just react with the HCl?

In chemistry class I conducted experiment involving the burning of fuels. I noticed that when burning the fuel with the highest vapour pressure (highest volatility) it produced more soot than the others. Why is this so? And also does the heat of combustion of a fuel affect the amount of soot produced?

Okay so here is my dilemma (:

At the start of last year, I started making eye contact with this guy who I had a small crush on. He responded well and started initiating the eye contact so I though he might come up to me and start talking. When he didn't I got worried and thought he may not have meant anything by it. Over the past year, this eye contact has continued and we have started teasing eachother e.g. flirting with other people right in front of eachother, laughing loudly, always finding ways to be closer. It has gotten to the point where it has become natural to do so but we have only had a few conversations. What does this mean??

I am a senior in high school and I really like this guy who I see a lot because we are in a lot of the same classes and music groups. For the past year or so I have been catching him staring at me a lot and we always have a lot of eye contact. Whenever I feel him staring I always try to smile a lot and laugh with my friends to let him know that I am a friendly person but he never starts up a conversation with me. He is quite popular in school and many girls like him; however, he has only been out with one girl in the past year and she was one of my friends. They are not going out anymore and I am getting tired of all the eye contact but no conversation. Is he worth having a crush on? If he won't come up and talk to me, how could I initiate conversation and get past this awkward stage?

Okay so there is this guy at my school who is of a 'higher social status' than me. transpose the formula so that x is the subject.

the answer should be x= -2st/t-2r but I can't seem to arrive at this answer.

Evaluate x squared - y squared

Please help! What method do you use to solve this?
