I am working in an Insurance co as a mid level Manager. I think books play an important role in improving collective conscience towards progress of Mankind. My book will play a big role in this sphere. It will prescribe how with adequate explanation as to why. This knowledge has potential to turn piece of Iron in to piece of Magnate(Talking of people collectively).

  • Theory is known as 'inheritance of ACQUIRED characteristics and is refuted on impirical ground!!!?

This theory says that The traits , habits and even physical appearance change due to species' life style and these Acquired Characteristics are passed to next generation.

But very sad to note is that this theory is refuted on following grounds:

Has it been tested? Weizmann cut off the tails of mice for 22 generations and kept getting tails. Jewish boys have been circumcised for thousands of years, but their male offspring keep getting foreskins. People keep having haircuts and have children who still need haircuts. This evidence refutes the hypothesis.

    MY QUESTION:

Is this the right ground to refute this theory. First changes of cutting tail or cutting hairs are not acquired changes they are imposed changes. If you cut the tail abruptly where is the time for the body to acquire this change. By acquiring we mean behaviour repeated over time several times. Larger the duration and more Impactful the environment forcing change in behaviour more is the intensity of Acquiredness .

So I think theory is being refuted for the grounds that theory never intended. Am I right in thinking so and what is the latest thinking and suggested readings on this topics

  • I am bewildered due to peculiar way my online credit card transaction unfolded. Can anyone explain?

I am placed in an asian country. Recently I subscribed for a magazine of international repute online using my credit card. The site provided me option for credit card number only i.e. it did not ask for my CVV number. Second I have registered for VBV(Verified by visa) facility but my transaction was completed without that window. Third I did not get the usual sms from my bank informing me about the transaction at completion of my transaction. Finally the most amazing part is that after a gap of 3 days I got a message that my card has been used in Singapore ( For the same amount as was intended by me). Though I (recieved) magazine all the 12 issues and was never defrauded still I have doubt whether I placed my self in some sort of risky situation. Kindly explain why the transaction did not proceed in normal manner.
