  • What is the best GPS watch out there?

My mom bought me a GPS watch and it is not accurate at all! She bought me a Soleus GPS Digital Running Watch 1.0. When I used it the first time, I just knew there was no way I was running as fast as it was telling me. So I measured it out in my car and the watch was 2 miles off!!! I need to find one that is good and accurate. Anyone know of some good ones?

  • Is there any reason to visit the doctor before pregnancy?

I have a 2 year old son now and we didn't go see the doctor until I was almost 3 months pregnant (insurance issues). Now we are ready to plan for our second child. I just stopped taking the pill 2 days ago and started prenatal vitamins. I've been exercising, I'm healthy, and ready to start trying. Is it necessary to visit the doctor before pregnancy or can we just wait and visit the doctor when we find out I am pregnant?

  • Where are good locations for a wedding?

I live in central texas and I'm looking for a wedding location anywhere in the United States. The wedding is set for late Oct. 2012. I want to be able to have an outdoor wedding so the weather must be perfect. It can't be cold. It won't be a large wedding so the size of location won't matter. I'm hoping to find a place that has a lot of green and big trees. Maybe some water near by. We will also probably have our honeymoon in the same city so it has to be fun! We were POSSIBLY thinking of places outside the US, but I really want to explore nearby first. We are not trying to spend a lot of money either. Any ideas?

  • what is the name of this song and who sings it?

All I know is that its an old song and in the video it is a bald woman singing and she starts to cry in the video. It's black background I think and just a close up of her mostly.

  • Will adding a new workout effect your menstrual cycle?

I started a very intense workout (insanity by shaun t) 2 weeks ago. Me cycles are not a consistent 28 day cycle. They are more closer to 32 to 35 days. Knowing that, I should have started by January 25th. The first day of my last period was Dec 21. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and each was a clear negative.

So my question is can this new workout be effecting my cycle?

  • Why do parents get upset at other people when they lose their own kids?

I was at work the other day and my co worker told me this story. We work in the mall and she saw a boy crying looking into a store. She asked what was wrong and he said he wants his mommy. She asked him where she was and he pointed into the store. So then she asked him to come in to our store and sit down to watch cartoons, but he took off running instead. THIRTY minutes later the mom comes out of the store and asks my co worker if she saw the little boy. My co worker answers yes and he took off running. Well the irresponsible mother gets upset at her for letting the boy run away and she walks off to look for him. Then ten minutes after that the father comes by and asks if anyone has seen the boy. My co worker is upset that now 40 minutes later the father is looking so she goes off on him. She says this boy was her FORTY minutes ago. He could be in a dumpster somewhere by now. She wasn't trying to be rude, buy point out the obvious. I mean, you don't let your kid wonder away like that. The mom was shopping instead of worrying about her kid. Who does that? Why do these irresponsible parents blame other people for their mistakes? And that's not the only time that has happened.

  • Just wanted to say I had my baby boy!!!!?

Thanks for all those who answered my questions. My handsome little boy was born 1 week ago. And boy did he come quick. He was 4 days past the due date, but I woke up at 1am feeling some menstrual like cramps and went to the hospital at about 5:30am. They sent me home at 6, but I went back up there around 9am. At about 9:30 my water broke and he was born at 11:31 am. He weighed 5lbs 14.2oz and was 19 3/4in long.

My first baby! I never thought labor would come that quick. I didn't even have time for ANY pain medication.

  • Are these labor pains that I'm feeling?

This is my first baby and I'm 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I'm scheduled for induction on the 15th if my baby is not here on his own by then. Today is the first day that I can say I feel uncomfortable. I've been feeling braxton hicks contractions and some slightly stronger ones, but not painful. I was 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced on the 7th. Right now I feel my belly firm all over. I have some slight back pain, but nothing too bad. I feel it in my mid back, not low back. I also feel hungry, but when I try to eat, I can't fit a thing in my stomach. I almost feel nauseous when I try to eat something. I've lost my mucous plug I think a week ago. Then it stopped. Today I lost some more mucous, but it was clear with some streaks of blood in it. It was only a little bit. I feel better when I lay down, but as soon as I sit up again, I feel the uncomfortable feeling. I also got my membranes stripped on the 7th. Are these labor pains or just pains letting me know I'm close? I don't have a doctor to call. I see a midwife at the hospital and they say to call Labor & Delivery if I'm going in to labor.

And I have a feelilng you all might answer to time contractions, but I really don't know how I would time them. It just feels like it is constantly firm. I don't have any pain strong enough to tell me when they start or end. I'm just concerned because I haven't felt uncomfortable like this at all. I can still talk through it and could probably even fall asleep right now if I lay down. I'm so sleepy.

  • What did you feel after you had your baby?

I'm just curious how each person describes there feeling of there empty belly after giving birth for the first time. My due date was yesterday and I just think of all kinds of random things, I'm not concerned at all, just curious. (I'm still preggers by the way)

So how did you feel? Did your belly feel empty? Did you even notice a difference? Did you feel back to your normal prepregnancy self? Did you feel sad to not feel your baby moving inside you anymore? Did you feel relieved that now there is no pressure on your bladder?

Please share your very own experience. I wanna know your stories.

  • How much blood is too much after getting my membranes stripped?

Today I had my membranes stripped at my appointment. I am 39 weeks and 6 days pregnant today. I was told I might spot and even bleed a little. But she didn't mention how much was too much. I am noticing some blood. I have a pad on it's about half full I guess. Maybe about 1/3 full actually. I got my membranes stripped 3 1/2 hours ago. Should I expect this much? Is this normal?

And if this amount is normal, when would it be too much that I should call and get checked?

  • How long can you lose your mucous plug for?

What is the longest time frame to lose your mucous plug without having to be concerned? When is it considered too long and you should let you doctor know? Or is there no time frame?

  • How are all of you pregnant ladies doing?

How is your pregnancy going? I'm just bored and curious to see how everyone is doing. Please feel free to share how things are moving along.

    1. How far along are you?

    2. How have you felt physically and emotionally?

    3. How much weight have you gained?

    4. What is your fundal height? (include pic if you have one)

    5. What kind of symptoms did you get?

    6. If you are close to 40 weeks, have you dilated and effaced yet?

    My answers:

    1. I'm 39weeks and 6 days pregnant today. I don't look it though.

    2. I myself am so ready for this baby. My belly is small, but my baby is doing fine. I'm so sick of going to the hospital. I've been going twice a week to non stress tests since the 1st of June. I've only been going because I'm so small. But every time I go they always tell me my baby is doing great. His heart rate is great and he moves a lot. He is sitting low and has been for a while now. I'm hoping he comes soon.

    3. I've gained 25 pounds.

    4. My fundal height measures at 31cm. Here is a pic I took of myself yesterday... http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss250/kc32887/T...

    5. Overall my pregnancy has been very easy. I never got any morning sickness, my boobs never got sore, I don't have any stretch marks, I still have my balance, I haven't been uncomfortable (until now that my baby is sitting lower and closer to my bladder).

    6. At my last appointment they told me I was 1cm dilated, 50% effaced, and my baby's head is at 0 station. Today I go in again for a non stress test and my dr appointment. Hopefully I've dilated more.

  • I'm not sure if you will know the answer to this, but my question is on age based off of the ultrasound...?

Ok, so the first day of my last period was October 1, 2008. So my due date is July 8, 2009, only 2 days away. BUT since technically you don't ovulate for another 2 weeks, does this mean that while you are considered 40 weeks pregnant your baby's age is 38 weeks when born?

Like at my last ultrasound I was exactly 36 weeks and 6 days pregnant and the ultrasound tech measured my baby at an estimated due date of 35 weeks exactly. Does that mean he is right on track due to the 2 week time frame you technically are not pregnant or is he just measuring 2 weeks and a day late? I mean, I know it's just an estimate either way you get your due date, but should the baby be measuring 37 weeks when you are 37 weeks pregnant or 35 weeks when you are 37 weeks pregnant?

I hope I'm not confusing anyone with this question. Does anyone KNOW the answer?
