  • Why are canabinoids in breast milk? Why are they important for babies?

    Hi all,

I am hoping someone has a great answer with true detail. I understand that cannabinoids (the same that are found in pot plant fruits) are essential to babies as they are developing and that they are found in the mother's breast milk. I also understand there are receptors in our brains waiting for the cannabinoids to plug in. Could it have something to do with hunger? I've heard it teaches babies how to be hungry, is this true? How does it work? If so, does it point to pot as being a possible evolution enhancer. Figuratively speaking, when someone does something great it was because of their "hunger" to get better. In order to get better you have to get creative and think outside the box, and THC does just that to many who consume it. Could we have switched from nomads to civilizations due to generations of eating or smoking pot thousands of years ago? After all, the cradle of civilization and the area where cannabis likely began to grow in abundance are not far from one another.

Has anyone else drawn a hypothesis like this? Or are there any neuroscientists that know about cannabinoids and their effects on developing minds?
