5 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: What if Pharoahe Monch didn't get sued?
"Simon Says"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7Fy5w2klbg
*Sued for sampling Akira Ifukube's "Gojira Tai Mosura"*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXEYVQtLXFk
If Pharoahe Monch didn't get sued would he be more popular than he is now?
When Simons Says dropped Pharoahe Monch was getting some attention right? Since it was a recognizable hit. It had a really catchy hook and the Godzilla sample gave it that gritty edge which is perfect to be played in public gatherings (parties, clubs, etc...).
After Pharoahe Monch was sued he went quiet. Other than "Oh No" w/ Nate Dogg on the hook & Mos Def, "My Life" w/ Styles P, "Fuсk You" & "Agent Orange" there wasn't much of anything he did significant in that time span. Not until 7 years later when he dropped "Desire". Now obviously him getting sued took a huge hit on his solo career. "Fuсk what you heard, less money mo' problems" - Pharoahe Monch... Maybe if he didn't get sued he could've put out 1 or 2 more albums, possibly maintain a constant momentous buzz where he'd be more well known in the underground today.
Thoughts?
BQ: Did you think Pharoahe Monch had mainstream appeal?
BQ: Pharoahe Monch & Prince Po reunion album. How much would you pay to see that happen?

1 AnswerRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: What do you think will become of Brick Squad's future?
So basically Brick Squad as a whole is getting closer and closer to disbanding. All on twitter. Waka & Gucci go at it some. Gucci says anyone apart of Brick Squad Monopoly is basically a fuсk nіgga. Frenchie claims Gucci ripped him off of thousands of dollars and he paid for the killer of Slim Dunkin's lawyer (don't think that's true) and he's gonna make a Gucci Mane diss track. Wooh da Kid calls OJ da Juiceman Gucci's bіtch.
Tbh this sucks. I didn't like all this beef between everyone associated with Brick Squad in the first place and now it escalated. smh.

Please.

I don't know exactly what to call it. I know I want to name it something about "fuсk the police". idk
Tell me what you think I need to work on, what's good what's bad, etc.... I took a 3 month hiatus with Producing so I might be a lil rusty :/
8 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: What type of image do you get from this?
Pyscho Ward
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEmAFPt_euQ
Listen to the story and the production, the hook. Doesn't it sound like it'd be like some gritty older movie about a psycho? Shіt gave me the chills first time I heard it a while back mane.
Those flutes >>>> I think they really make it seem like that ya know?

9 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: What's so great about "Acid Rap" by Chance, the Rapper?
Alot of people put this tape on their top mixtapes this year. I think the project is dope and it's a solid tape and everything like a 3/5 but It wasn't great. Sure that crazy ODB like flow is done well sometimes (though most of the time he over does it and some of the beats are wasted) and all but what did it do new or great? I'm talking bout the music itself, not the fact that he was on acid during the recording.
BQ: Top 10 mixtapes?
BQ: You gonna peep D5? Heard it's like his old self. I'm so excited.
7 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: State of New York Hip-Hop?
Let's discuss this a little shall we? What I wanna know is what you think of New York Hip-Hop nowadays. To me, the popular or most popular Hip-Hop that comes out of New York sounds like Hip-Hop down here in the south (except Joey Bada$$). Same flow and everything. Now I've never been to New York but New York Hip-Hop artists and fans seem to blame the south for all of their problems yet the most popular Hip-Hop outta New York is Southern-soundingish you know? What do you think caused this? Is Boom Bap, the thing that New York is known for doing so well, outdated? Why is it not that popular anymore? Is it not flexible enough to fit with the constantly changing scene of Hip-Hop?
Excuse me if I seem a little ignorant about this. It's just from my point of view. I don't live in New York or near New York so I wouldn't know as much about the Hip-Hop scene there.
5 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: What did you think of these recent songs?
Look What I Got On
http://youtube.com/watch?v=R_pOnqclCtg
Wiz kills it. Especially with his flow. Production is dope.
Untitled (From GTA V Soundtrack)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=eVJAoRZB-rs
Could definitely ride to this in GTA V. A$AP flow >
Garbage (From GTA V Soundtrack)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=n0xvAZS40aQ
Can't ride to this. Beats cool. Tyler is ok but it doesn't really bump nah mean?
Swizz Beatz Hands Up w/ Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross & 2 Chainz
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z0SC-h_eufk
Beats is fire. I liked Lil Wayne & Nicki Minaj's verse best. 2 Chainz was alrite, I could care less about Ross.
BQ: Thoughts on these mixtapes?
Lil Ray - The Purple Tape
^Rapper from Houston if I'm not mistaken. I'd recommend it to anyone that likes Chopped & Screwed influenced music. Or soulful R&B or funky type G music that Texas is known for.
King Louie - Jeep Music
^Some gems on here. Solid tape.
2 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: Female MC recommendation?
FeMC rec is the artist Sasha Go Hard.
Now Sasha's style is similar to Nicki Minaj except Sasha Go Hard doesn't rap on electro-pop beats. I would say it's like Nicki Minaj's older music except Sasha has more of a southern influence whereas Nicki did NY Boom Bap. Nicki is a better rapper skill wise though. But Sasha still makes dope songs and she can kill a beat. Saluting is one example.
I'd recommend Nutty World by Sasha Go Hard
http:/ /www.livemixtapes. com/mixtapes/23711/sasha-go-hard-nutty -world.html
paste in url and delete spaces
If you like that check out her Round 3 tape.
BQ: Top 5 Female MCs?
BQ: Thoughts on The Weeknd's new track "Live For" w/ Drake?
1 AnswerRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoHow do you stop an eye twitch?
My eye has been twitching for the past 2 weeks and it's annoying. I've heard not enough sleep is the problem and I tried getting more sleep but it didn't work.
2 AnswersOptical8 years agoRHH: How many more "responses" to Kendrick Lamar do you think there will be?
B.o.B. just dropped one.
http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/b-o-b-how-2-rap-song.1...
B.o.B.'s response or Joell Ortiz's response? Both weren't really all that tbh.
BQ: If you are, which "response" are you anticipating the most?
5 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: Did any one else waste their time with the new Jame$ tape?
A huge step down from Don't be S.A.F.E. This whole tape is generic and boring as hell Please don't waste your time. I'm just warning yall. The features don't help. Danny Brown wrote his verse in 2 minutes and not even Gucci could save it. This is coming from a guy with ATL bias too :(
5 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop8 years agoRHH: Why is it that.....?
Every time I try to rec you guys by asking a question it immediately gets deleted? I've tried to you guys a bunch of classic Southern tapes and 10 seconds after it gets posted it's deleted. It's like damn. I did all that typing for nothing. I space the link out and everything. I don't get it.
BQ: Rec me something from the NY underground? I'm pretty unknowledgeable when it comes to NY Hip-Hop in general. I've heard some of the basics and the tapes Marcus rec'd but other than that.
