Animals, my best subject. I'm an animal lover. I can't resist looking at cute looking dogs and other animals too. I also love Mathematics, especially problem solving like algebra and chemistry too.

  • I love animals and I love food. How can I live with myself knowing that animals are being killed for food?

I love animals and can't bear to see them killed, hurt or injured. On the other hand, I love to cook delicious food, mostly out of meat. How can I live with myself if I cook and eat animal flesh, knowing that they've been slaughtered, especially the best, freshes meat with blood all over it? I don't even know what career I should pursue because of this issue. I like science so I though food science would be nice. I'm also thinking about veterinary science, since I love animal. These two careers are so contradictory that I don't even know which to choose anymore. Any ideas, thoughts, advice? Please help!

  • How should blade covers/soakers look like?

I'm attempting to make my own soakers using a site by Ice Mom's Adventure in Figure Skating but I couldn't understand the instructions at all. I think it's because I don't know exactly how it should look like because I never had soakers before. I'm using terry cloth to make it. Is there supposed to be two layers in a soaker? Has anyone made your own soakers before? Mind giving me a few tips? I couldn't find any other instructional sites and I couldn't understand the only one I've got. Here's the link to the website. If you would kindly explain the instructions to me, I would be much grateful.

  • How should I bring my ice skates/figure skates without an expensive bag like zuca?

Any ideas how I should bring my skates to the rink without a fancy expensive bag that I can't afford? Or should I just hold them by the blades like I see some skaters do?

  • What do you think about taking a food science and nutrition/technology course and a culinary arts course?

I'm thinking of going for a food science and nutrition/technology degree course first before going for a culinary arts course. What are your views? What careers would I most probably be involved in? Would the degree benefit/enhance the culinary arts course? Would the degree give me a better chance of getting a better job or at least a more well-paid job? How can I expand my career in the future(to increase my salary)? For those who know, what's the difference between 'food science and nutrition' and 'food science and technology' courses?

    Thanks everyone!

  • I love Biology but I can't seem to get an A in it. What should I do?

I've always loved Biology, even when I was in high school. But even up till now when I'm in college, I still can't ever seem to be able to get an A in it. In fact, I think I spent most of my study time studying for Biology. What's wrong with me? Am I not meant to be with the one subject that I truly love? What should I do to strive on for that A before I decide to give up on it?

Any other advice and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

  • How do I paper train my dog if she just stands there?

I tried to crate her then get her to potty after 30 minutes in repetition. Then I tried to play with her so that she would need to go potty afterwards. Then I let her have a nap and bring her to potty when she wakes. NOTHING WORKS!!! What do I do? every time I put her of newspaper(her toilet) she just stands there and eventually sit down. That's all she does. What should I do to get her to go potty? Any ideas?

By the way, she usually does her business in our backyard but since we're moving into an apartment soon, I really need to paper train her.

She's a pomeranian by the way.

  • If one loves animals, would working as a pet grooming assistant be better than a pet shop sales assistant?

I'm 18 and I'm interested in applying for a part-time job at one of the pet shops near my place. It's kinda like my only few options since the nearest shelter is at least an hour's drive away unless I get a part-time job at a vet's clinic.

Would it be better to do so even if the shop sells pets(dogs, cats, hamsters, etc.) as well as have grooming services?

What's the difference of the job descriptions? What would each job require us to do? Would I be able to handle the animals if I were a pet shop sales assistant? Would the salaries vary much often? How so?

I'm sorry for the many questions but I'd be grateful for your help.

    Thank you.

  • My dog has bad eye contact with people. Is this a problem?

Every time we look her in the eye, she just looks away. This is especially true if she has done something wrong. I know that eye contact is very important in dog training but if she does not even pay attention to the training, it's quite difficult to train her. Sometimes she just purposely ignores us. So is this a problem? Any tips on how to solve this? Thanks.

  • How could I convince my parents to allow me to figure skate?

First of all, I'm 18. I know, it's a little late but I'm not aiming for the Olympic, I just wanna skate! Anyway, my parents think that figure skating is dangerous and since a recent incident (I fell while skating recklessly and cut the skin of my chin, I had to get stitches after that), it just verified the dangerousness of the sport. Now, I don't think I'll ever be able to convince them otherwise. By the way, my parents are almost non-negotiable so what should I do to convince them? Also, I can't find anyone who is willing to take lessons with me to form a group so having a private coach would be very, very expensive. I would very much be willing to work part time to earn the money for both the skates and the lessons but the only thing stopping me is my parents' approval. To tell you the truth, I actually have to sneakily go to the rink and ice skate(just ice skate and try to self teach some tricks, which is not very successful) about once a month or once in two months now. I don't want to sneak around anymore, it feels bad, so what should I do?

Ps. I can already sort of do a bit of swizzle, wiggle, forward crossovers, a lame three turn, spiral and one foot glide forward (self taught through Youtube)

  • Will I have to start at basic 1 if I already know some moves?

If I already know stuff like forward glide, spirals, front crossovers, swiggles, snowplow stop, and a bit of two foot spins, will I still have to start at the first level of figure skating if I were to take up lessons?

  • Has anyone succeeded by learning through youtube and self-learn?

I'm really interested in figure skating. In fact, I'm crazy about it! but I can't afford lessons and my parents do not approve of me doing it either. But I can go ice skating once in a while. I was wondering, has anyone succeeded in learning how to figure skate(just simple stuff like 3-turn, simple spins and crossovers by self-learning using youtube (and occasionally "stealing " other people's lessons through observation)? Is it even possible?

I try doing stretches at home myself and getting ideas on how to skate better through youtube but can anyone tell me how else I can chase after this extracurricular 'dream' of mine without the heavy cost?

    Thanks!

  • Working in MPH bookstore?

Does anyone know anything about working in MPH? What's the pay for a part timer? What do we need to apply for the job?(IC/resume/SPM/etc.) Do we get any benefits, like employee discount? Do they offer part time jobs and what are they usually like? Weekends? Half a day?

    Real answers only!

    Thank you.

  • What kind of figure skates should I get?

If I skate once every week or two weeks once, which kind of figure skates do you recommend? Recreational or Beginner to intermediate? I'd like to be able to skate leisurely but can also do spirals and spins and maybe very simple jumps. But I'm not considering taking classes or going professional. Just want to try being a figure skate wanna-be with zero experience.

And by the way, are recreational or beginner to intermediate skates more expensive and which is more long-lasting?

I know Reidell skates are great but what do you recommend if my foot is 23cm(about 9 inches) long and 9cm(about 3.5 inches)wide? What size and brand do you recommend?

    Thanks everyone!

  • Program Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN) 2011?

Can someone give me a website to check for people who have been chosen to join the plkn for 2011?

I kept searching but all that came out is either forums or a government site that has been blocked.

  • Is anyone studying or studied in Inti College(Subang Jaya)?

I was considering to go to Inti next year and was wondering how are the courses there? Is the courses for A-levels and Chemistry related(not medical or pharmacy, though) courses there good? Can the fees be considered low, reasonable or high(honestly). What are the facilities they offer(swimming pool, big/small library, etc.)

    Thanks!
