As a test of willpower, I decided to stop smoking for 3 days. The first day wasn't all that bad. Simply put, the only uncomfortable part was having to remind myself not to light up each time I had a craving.

All in all, the first day was only a mental challenge. i.e. - no physical side effects.

The second day also passed by, but I had a headache for a majority of the second part of the day.

Right now, I'm starting on the third day of this experiment. I feel horrible. Symptoms include a headache, nausea, overall body ache.

If I would decide to extend this 3 day into something longer, how long would these symptoms last?

P.S. - I honestly don't really have an urge to quit smoking, I'm just seeing how the body reacts to various things. I usually smoke about one pack every 2-3 days(more if going clubbing/ out to a bar with friends).

I have a toshiba m305-s4815 and just installed windows xp pro x64. I've spent hours trying to find a driver that will work with this computer and windows xp pro 64. Drivers from the tosiba site don't work...and i have tried at least 10 other drivers( i have a folder of about 100mb worth of not working audio drivers already...) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have a toshiba m305 s4815(?) laptop.

The 3.5mm jack outputs both analog and digital signals.

Does the s/pdif out on this laptop uses an optical or coaxial interface. There are 3.5mm to optical, and 3.5mm mono to coaxial. Some laptops have coaxial s/pdif out, others have optical.

I am unable to find any information on the m305 in regards to this, and under playback devices in windows it only says "digital output device(spdif)" but doesn't specify which type.

I have a Sony str de475 5.1 ht receiver. It's a rather low end receiver which I highly doubt supports bi amping.

I only have a stereo setup with bi wireable tower speakers..(don't plan on changing this)(no sub)

I know there are risks involved, but what exactly would happen if I would run wires from the front and surround outputs on the amp into the tower speakers?

Please don't just say it's a bad idea.

I'd like to find out what would actually happen.

PS this amp has a "protect" feature that is actually pretty decent. whenever something is shorted or a speaker draws too much power, the amp automatically shuts itself down and the screen displays "protect"...

I'm trying to replace the 2.5mm mic/stereo jack on my smt5600/c500 smartphone with a regular 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, but I'm not sure how I would wire this. Please don't post telling me it's not worth the risk etc etc. It's an old smartphone anyway and I have some soldering experience so hopefully I don't mess it up too bad :). I was planning on buying the 3.5mm stereo port from radioshack...would anyone recommend anywhere else?

Many of you believe in every word that this guy says. Sure, he is a very bright person etc.(wouldn't be in the position that he's in now if he didn't have something on his shoulders), but you do realize he is just another politician who promises wonders, many of which can't be put into realization. The biggest change would be having a black face as the head of our country.

I am looking for an old friend from middle-high school. Does anyone have any hints? I know she doesn't live where she used to and tried myspace/facebook etc.

I wanted to see everyones opinions on buying a used mercedes. The models I was looking at include the 1994-2000 c220 and c280, the 1996-2000 e320, and also 1995-2000 BMW 525i.

Anyone have any comments, suggestions etc.

ps. the cars that i'm looking at all have between 75,000 and 150,000 miles.

I've heard it mentioned that menthols of any brand seem to be less healthy than lights etc...

Anyone have more information about this?

I'm thinking about wiring my house for a home theatre system, the system will be composed of a 42" lcd, a yamaha/boston acoustics 7.1 setup, an audio video media streamer that I have not found yet, and a dvr. I don't have power/coaxial/network connections where I will be putting the tv, and the entertainment center, but there is an unfinished basement under this part of the house which grants me relitively easy access to wiring the room.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience in doing this, and tips/hints/do's/don't do's...etc.

p.s. I will have to run power, coax for direct tv, and ethernet, plus the possibility of putting wiring for the speaker setup in(debating yes/no because of 7 speakers and a sub...that's alot of work, is it worth it..?)

Well, here is my question:

I have heard many people say that when an individual says they like smoking, it is just an excuse for an underlying nicotine addiction. Do all of you agree with this?

For example, I love the environment of downtown Portland;the coffee shops, the waterfront, restaurants, bars, shops, etc.., and I use those things as a stress reliever, and a form of pleasure because the feeling I get from them. I also like the fresh smell of coffee at starbucks in the morning, where I can start my day off with a triple shot espresso and a cigarette while reading the paper.

True, this might be a routine, which some of you may define as an addiction, but what I'm saying is that I couldn't think of a better way to start MY day, and this routine is an enjoyable part of my day.

PS. Please don't write your opinion about the healthiest cig being a candy one, or none at all, I'm looking for real opinions!
