Clanking/grinding noise at ~1000 rpm in second gear (automatic transmission)?
The car is a 2002 Toyota Avalon (6-cylinder) and has been making a kind of clanging noise whenever I'm at about 1000rpm, and only in second gear. It doesn't make the noise above 1100, below 1000, or in any other gear. Does anyone know what might be the issue? Could it just be resonating from the frequency in that particular gear?
It only lasts about a second, unless I keep it at the exact correct speed/rpm for that noise. Everything else seems to be functioning fine.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoDo you believe it's good or bad to have nearly 50% of voters undecided the day before their primary/caucus?
In nearly all of the states that have voted to date, around half of voters were undecided the day before the election, and only made up their mind within 24 hours of voting.
Do you believe this is good or bad, and why?
3 AnswersElections9 years agoAt what age were you able to grow a full beard?
And if you know, what's your family's ancestry/ethnicity?
By "full beard" I mean a dark, thick beard, not just fuzz or patches.
3 AnswersMen's Health9 years agoApproximately what time will the various precincts of Iowa be reporting their caucus results?
If anyone knows about what time they came in the previous year or knows about when they would be reported in this year, I would greatly appreciate it!
2 AnswersElections9 years agoThoughts on Herman Cain?
Just want to see what you think of Herman Cain, do you support him or oppose him, and why?
9 AnswersElections10 years agoHas anyone here heard of Governor Gary Johnson?
People say there is a media blackout on Ron Paul... but Gary Johnson has far more support and donations so far than Jon Huntsman... yet even Huntsman gets attention nationally.
What's wrong with Gov. Johnson?
5 AnswersElections10 years agoDid the "Media Bias" against Ron Paul backfire a little?
The Media, as usual, has been under-selling Ron Paul as a headline maker http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/...
YOu don't have to click it, but basically it shows that Ron Paul has even fewer media mentions that Trump in relation to presidential campaigns.
But now he's getting a lot of smaller media outlet pieces (those who aren't special-interest owned) on how much he is being ignored. Did this backfire on them at all?
The same thing is happening to Gary Johnson, but unfortunately Gary doesn't have enough support to make it a big deal. Why doesn't he have support? Because no one knows who he is. Why don't they know who he is? The media avoids stories about him. Vicious circle.
6 AnswersElections10 years agoI'm confused on how an Ohioan registers with political affiliation?
I haven't voted in a partisan primary yet (so technically I'm registered "Independent" and have only been able to vote in general elections.) How do I, an already-registered voter, select a party affiliation in Ohio? It was not an option back when I registered.
2 AnswersCivic Participation10 years agoAnything to help assist and hasten the process of healing, even slightly for wisdom tooth removal?
I had all 4 removed, three were impacted and cut out, one was pulled, on Friday. I have a trip coming up soon, vacation basically, and was hoping that my mouth would be (for the most part) healed by this Sunday or Monday. Is there anything other than the saltwater rinses and lots of sleep that will help assist healing?
1 AnswerDental10 years agoIf many people LIKE a candidate, but believe they don't have a chance, wouldn't that only further damage them?
I hear things all the time about some of the under-represented candidates (specifically Libertarians and Independent candidates) to which people can really relate, but believe that they have no chance in winning. That seems like one of the biggest obstacles to their candidacy (other than media attention).
Wouldn't it make more sense to vote for them anyways, rather than not vote, or vote for someone you don't fully support?
3 AnswersElections10 years agoHow certain are you that YOUR party is going to win the election, and why?
Please state your party affiliations, how certain you are they will win/lose, and why.
4 AnswersElections10 years agoQuestion for GOPers, Dems, and Ind. voters? Would you support a Ron Paul/Gary Johnson ticket?
If you could state your "most common" party preferences, (Dem, GOP, ind.), that would be really interesting to know who supports an anti-war, balanced budget, decriminalization-supporting ticket.
Also, would you vote for this ticket, or Obama/Biden, if this were the choice in 2012?
8 AnswersElections10 years agoNeed a Pokemon game for DS. Which one should I get?
D/P... Platinum... B/W... HG/SS?
I can't decide... So far I feel like Platinum will have a very long playtime and lots of replay action after the Elite 4...
6 AnswersVideo & Online Games10 years agoFor those who have played Gen. IV and V Pokemon DS games, which would you recommend most?
I have a lot of road traveling to do in August, and haven't played a Pokemon game since Gen. III. I have enough money for one Pokemon game, but can't decide on diamond/pearl/platinum or Black/White.
If you have played both generations, which one did you enjoy the most, have the most time of enjoyable replay/continuing after the Elite Four, and which one would you recommend most?
Thank you!
7 AnswersVideo & Online Games10 years agoThe right corner of my big toenail is hurting, I cut it too short?
It's not exactly "ingrown" but just a tiny bit of it is at the same level of the skin. Is there a way to let it keep growing while using something, maybe cotton, to keep the nail growing straight out rather than downwards on that corner into the skin?
2 AnswersInjuries10 years agoNeed help removing Vista Home Security 2012 virus?
I had a previous version before, and there was a really quick and easy fix that someone gave me involving a registry key of some sort that cleared it up in no time. I can't seem to find anything similar for the updated version of this virus; can anyone help me out? I remember how quick and easily it went; if there is a similar fix to the updated version, that would be much appreciated!
4 AnswersSecurity10 years agoWhat's the olfactory equivalent of "mouth-watering"?
By that I mean looking at a picture and just wishing you could smell something, like flowers. I saw a picture of lilacs (I love the scent of lilacs, it's one of my absolute favorites) and I have this incredible urge to smell some. Is there a term for that?
2 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoWhy do we have to be so bigoted and limited to a political label?
Why do people reduce themselves to "Republican" or "Democrat", both of which have become filthy words in different areas and different social groups. Why can't we just be citizens who make responsible, conscientious decisions in government?
Do you really need to be limited to a one word political label, or do you have to argue constantly and say that anyone who doesn't think like you is wrong, while they say the same thing about you?
3 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoCan't find the name of a really iconic song that starts with saxophone?
I love this song, and it starts with just a saxophone (or clarinet?) or something that sounds like a woodwind. It starts with a "do DO do DO do DOO DOO, duh doo doo DOO DOOOOOO..." and repeats that a few times.
I've been looking all day and cannot find it!
1 AnswerJazz1 decade agoCan't think of the name of a jazz musician?
There was a jazz musician who played around NYC and in Times Square, and he had a CRAZY beard and hair, like santa. He played saxophone.
Anyone know who I'm talking about?
