  • Cons and Repubics; why do you continue to create class-envy and class-warfare?

by giving away the farm to the already-rich and ultra-rich? They don't create jobs when they get tax-cuts (as they have for the past 12 years). And, they just continue to build more of a divide between them and the middle-class by taking jobs offshore, profiting from the demise of our financial system and buying off politicians. Why do repubics blame 'libs' for 'creating a class war' - when it's the actions of the ultra-rich and sympathetic tea-party politicians who have created the environment?

  • Why do Republicans vote and sound-off for issues that negatively affect them?

The three, largest single-voting-blocks of Americans are: registered Republicans who receive one of the following: Social Security, Medicare (aid) and/or public assistance. If conventional wisdom dictates that Americans generally vote their pocketbooks - why do these three groups vote for politicians and issues in favor of de-funding and/or eliminating the so-called 'entitlement' programs that they benefit from?

Are they noble people who vote their conscience but not for their own interests? Are they 'not too bright'? Have they been convinced by right-wing lobbiests and media to support breaks for others who are ultra-wealthy? Or, perhaps they have not done their own due-diligence, and believe the rhetoric from the conservative media... not realizing that they are voting against their own financial interests.

Or, are they so ginned-up against President Obama that they will cut off their own income just to get that man out of offfice?

    What is it?

  • When you smell something, are you actually absorbing small particles of that substance?

So, when you smell a hamburger cooking - are you actually consuming molecules of that hamburger? And - a gross thought - what about when you smell dog poop?

  • Why do many Republicans feel the need to broadcast their religion to anyone who will listen?

To me; it means that they are terribly insecure, and need to cite some form of 'higher power' as their inspiration.

Don't they realize that it repels more people than it attracts?

I don't know of any 'non-believers' who were converted by listening to politicians citing God as their overriding reasons for their decision making.

  • Why don't commercial roses smell like roses anymore?

Before we were married - about 20 years ago, when I bought roses for my wife at a florist, they smelled like, well... 'roses'. I visited the florist yesterday and did the sniff test - none of them had more than a faint rose scent. Yes, my 'sniffer' still works, because roses the we grow are very fragrant. I would speculate that it's because they are somehow bred to grow a certain way... and somehow that eliminated the 'scent' gene?

    Does anyone really know why?

  • What would you do with a one week hall pass?

I just caught the movie 'Hall Pass' on a movie channel - it conjured up the fantasy of imagining what I would do if I had a week off from my 20 year marriage.

What would you do... if you chose to take up the offer?

And, 'honestly', do you think that you'd hit a homer with only one week to play ball?

ps - I'm not intending this to be a moral question about infidelity - just for fun.

    Thank you

  • Is Newt's wife wearing a helmet?

My 9 year old asked me that. She thought that she looked like a bird wearing a helmet. As we know - generally the President and high-profile 'celebrities' (cough) often wear body armor. Do you think that Gingrich's wife protects herself from getting shot like Gabby Gifford did by wearing a bulletproof coif?

  • Using a Social Security card for ID?

Are you ever asked for your Social Security Number as a form of ID?

The Social Security Administration requires that SS cards are NOT used as ID. Their reasoning is that that number can easily be used for ID fraud. And, they are not photo IDs.

Why do banks, insurance companies and other organizations continue to request your SSN as a form of ID?

  • Debt Ceiling limit: Will the right actually 'compromise'?

The President has put forth a budget that is designed to drop our deficit by 4-trillion in the near future, and it includes more than $4. in spending cuts for each $1. of tax hikes. Republicans complain about Democrats not being open to 'negotiate' the solution... however their sacred cow is taxes. They refuse to be responsible and raise taxes, even slightly. Is that 'negotiation'?

"Hey, you scratch my back... and I'll get my back scratched."

I hope that they are actually adults who are temporarily playing politics because there is too much at stake if they don't give a bit. They're puffin their chests and staring each other down... hopefully their big egos aren't puffed up too much ao that the won't build a solution.
