  • Rate my guilty pleasure names?

Because I like to add a little variety, I wanted to post the more unique names that I like (I wouldn't necessarily name my children these). You might even consider these to be "guilty pleasure" names. If you wouldn't mind rating them first on how pretty it is (ignoring weirdness), and then comment on how weird it would be to name your child it. Oh, and I'm not expecting, just obsessed with names. haha

Aja (girl)- A character in a book I liked was named this. It is a name listed on Babynames, though, so not entirely made up.

Algernon (boy) - ...Yes, because of Flowers For Algernon.

Ameya (girl) - My name is Amy, so that's probably why I like this.

Artemis (boy) - I like this firstly because I think it sounds cool, but also because I'd be able to nickname him Art (and Art Garfunkel is cool). Arthur would be my safer name.

Ariana (girl) - This might not even be too weird. I dunno.

Atia (girl) - My boyfriend loves Roman history, and this was one Roman name that stood out to me.

Cato (boy) - Another Roman name that I fell in love with. It might become popular because of The Hunger Games, though?

Cian/Keane (boy) - Traditional spelling is Cian, but Keane might be a better choice in the U.S.

Drea (girl) - Often short for Andrea, but what do you think of it on its own?

Drew (girl) - lol I love Drew Barrymore. Only reason.

Emelyn (girl) - Created name from Babynames.

Enya (girl) - Eithne is the traditional spelling. The singer made it popular.

Elsa (girl) - Loved it since the movie Born Free. Will probably be the name of my cat, but it's a fine girl's name too.

Eoin (boy) / Eowyn (girl) - I love this name. I like it for a boy, because that's traditional. But J.R.R. Tolkien of course made me love the female version as well.

Faelyn (girl) - "Beautiful fairy" Too made up?

Fenton (boy) - I just like this.

Floyd (boy) - ...Probably because of Pink Floyd.

    Florian (boy) - I think it's pretty.

For(r)est (boy) - I like this for two reasons: I love the forest, and Forrest Gump. ...But that's also the reason I wouldn't use it. hah

Glenn (boy) - I don't think this is too unique; it's my dad's name. But still, I haven't met many Glenns.

Harrison (boy) - I love George Harrison. I would hate the nickname Harry, though.

Jaela (girl) - "Jay" names seem to be popular now, but eh.

Knox (boy) - I just think it's cool.

Leif (boy) - In the U.S. people are used to "Leaf" but I like "Layf" as well.

Leland (boy) - A character in Twin Peaks.

Leon (boy) - Not that uncommon, but I'll put it here anyway.

    Locke (boy) - ...LOST.

Marion (girl) - My grandma's name, used to be fairly popular.

Niko (boy) - Probably a future pet's name.

    Oakley (boy) - I think it's cute.

Orlena (girl) - I also like the name Lena.

    Remus (boy) - ...Harry Potter.

River (boy) - Another nature name. Inspired by River Phoenix.

    Rowan/Rohan (boy) - Sounds cool.

Roman/Rome (boy) - Mostly for my boyfriend.

Tamera (girl) - My mom's name is Tammy.

Vera (girl) - I love this name. You see it from time to time, but still not really popular.

Wesley (boy) - The Princess Bride.

Willa (girl) - I like it more than Willow.

Rate them if you'd like. Thanks. :]
