  • Do I trade Giovanni Bernard for Anquan Boldin in a PPR league?

Either one would occupy one of my flex spots and I have decent depth at both position so I'm mainly asking which is going to have the better season. Remember this is PPR.

  • Gifting games in the Humble Bundle?

So I want to get the Humble Indie Bundle V, but the problem is that I already own 3 of the 5 games that are in the bundle (LIMBO, Amnesia, Bastion). Is there a way to gift the individual games over Steam once you buy the bundle, or do you have to download all of the games? I'm not asking if you can send the whole bundle as a gift (I know you can), but the individual games themselves.

  • Wouldn't an LSU vs. Alabama Championship game defeat the purpose?

Now, I understand we're at the point where an LSU/Alabama championship game is almost necessary, since every other team in college football feels the need to throw away its chance to play in the championship game (Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Oregon). However, the entire year people are arguing over whether or not the SEC is the best conference in football, and if two teams from that conference play in the National Championship game, then there is no way of comparing the SEC to other conferences. Forget the whole rematch idea, doesn't having 2 teams from the same conference in the Championship game defeat the purpose of having a championship game in the first place?

  • Are McFadden and Foster elite RBs or just products of a system?

So, this year both Darren McFadden and Arian Foster have been injured for an extended amount of time. Their replacements, Michael Bush and Ben Tate, have put up similar levels of productivity. So, are McFadden and Foster actually elite running backs, or are their stats just results of the system they play in?

  • NFL Fill in the Blanks?

Now that we're at the halfway point in the season, I wanted to see if I could get people's forecasts on how certain teams and players will perform during the second half. So fill in the blanks:

    Defensive MVP:

    Coach of the Year:

    Comeback Player of the Year:

    Offensive Rookie of the Year:

    Defensive Rookie of the Year:

  • Who's gonna make the playoffs?

We're at the halfway point, so now predicting the playoff picture actually seems like a reasonable thing to do. However, that doesn't mean that we're going to be anywhere close to right about these. Still, it's interesting to hear opinions, so I'm interested to hear what people have to say.

    My predictions:

    AFC:

    East: Jets

    North: Ravens

    West: Chargers

    South: Texans

    Wild Card 1: Patriots

    Wild Card 2: Bengals

    Notes:

    - The Texans are clearly the best team in the South, since no other team can even muster an above .500 record.

    - In the West, things are a little tricky, since every team is mediocre. However, the Chargers showed the most promise last week, and they have a tendency to turn things around.

    - The Jets, Patriots, and Bills all have manageable schedules down the stretch, so it will most likely come down to divisional games. While the Jets probably have the more difficult of the 3, they also get the Bills and Patriots at home, and they are the hottest team right now of the three. However, the Bills get the Pats and Jets on the road, and they're the least proven of the 3 teams. While the Pats are slipping, I still give them the wild card spot over the Bills.

    - The North is a tricky division to figure out. I looks like the Ravens may have finally figured out what they're doing, so I'll give them the division. However, Pittsburgh has been terribly inconsistent, and the Bengals are unproven, so it's tough to choose one over the other. I'll take the Bengals for now (mostly cuz I hate the steelers), but it'll become more clear after this weekend.

    NFC:

    East: Giants

    North: Packers

    West: 49ers

    South: Saints

    Wild Card 1: Lions

    Wild Card 2: Falcons

    Notes:

    - Packers and 49ers have been obvious picks for the division for the entire season, and nothing has happened to change that.

    - Giants won, Eagles lost, Giants have a three game lead over them, and no one else in the division can be taken seriously. This division is looking more and more like the Giants to lose, despite their brutal schedule.

    - While the Falcons are on the way up, the Saints still look like the dominant offensive powerhouse they have been for years. That Rams game feels like more of a misstep than an indication of weakness. The Falcons can prove that they can win the division this upcoming weekend, but for now the division belong to the Saints.

    - This is an obvious three-way race, where either the Lions, Bears or Falcons could get left out. For now it's the Bears, but they could easily jump back in it. The Lions still have the Packers twice, and the Falcons still have the Saints twice, but it's hard for me to put the Bears in when they seem like the third best team in that division. However, if they are gonna overtake one team, I would say it's the falcons. They simply don't have a favorable schedule playing in that division.

  • Rank the Giants WR corps?

Now, as a Giants fan I'm not particularly qualified to give an unbiased answer, but where would you rank the collective Giants receiver corps. Hakeem Nicks is becoming one of the better WRs in the league, and Manningham and Cruz are both legitimate options. Just want your honest opinions, whether they be high or low.

  • Who do you think will make the playoffs?

Since Week 7 is essentially over (the Ravens are gonna win), I would like to get people's takes on who will make the playoffs. And since we are getting close to the halfway point in the season, it is not ridiculously irrational to try to predict the playoff picture. Only fairly irrational. Please leave any predictions or comments that aren't completely biased towards one team. But I'm sure that's asking too much for some people.

    My prediciton:

    AFC:

    East: Patriots

    North: Ravens

    West: Chargers

    South: Texans

    Wild Card 1: Bills

    Wild Card 2: Steelers

    Notes:

    - Patriots and Ravens seem obvious locks for the playoffs barring complete meltdowns.

    - Jags and Colts aren't winning the South, and the Texans just beat the Titans...by 34. Not a tough decision.

    - Picking the AFC West is like picking the NFC East. I'm trying to find the best out of a bunch of mediocre to bad teams. I'll take the Chargers, only because they usually play their best football in the second half of the season, and injuries have destroyed the Raiders offense (especially if McFadden is out for a long time).

    - The two wild card spots are gonna go to teams from the North and East, cuz the South and West just aren't that good. It pretty much comes down to two teams for 4 spots: Bills, Steelers, Jets, Bengals. The Bengals can't be trusted with a rookie QB, and I still don't completely believe in the Jets offense (I'm gettin' there), so Bills and Steelers get it for now.

    NFC:

    East: Giants

    North: Packers

    West: 49ers

    South: Saints

    Wild Card 1: Lions

    Wild Card 2: Falcons

    Notes:

    - Packers and 49ers are gimmes, moving on...

    - You could pick any team in the NFC East and defend it, so I'm going with the team that has a the most wins. Their schedule is tough though, so we'll see.

    - The Saints are 5-2 and just won by 55. That's essentially 8 touchdowns. They're good.

    - Similar to the AFC, there are 4 teams worth considering: Lions, Falcons, Bears, Bucs. I have the same issues with the Bears and Bucs: inconsistentcy. The Bucs can't play well until the 4th quarter, and I still don't trust Cutler or their O-line. Now, the Lions are sliding, but unless Stafford is seriously hurt, I think that team will make the playoffs.

  • Week 6 playoff predictions?

So now that we've seen most teams play 5 games (not all, but still), I feel like we're getting closer and closer to the point where we can appropriately predict the playoff picture. However, it is still early in the season, so we're basically guessing and making assumptions about teams. So, which teams do you think will make the playoffs?

    My guess:

    AFC:

AFC East: Patriots - not sure they're as good as last year, but still good enough to win the division.

AFC North: Ravens - in my opinion, the best defense in the NFL hands down.

AFC West: Raiders - it's close between them and the Chargers, but it just seems like the Raiders have looked good in losses and the Chargers have looked bad in wins.

AFC South: Texans - it's hard to put them here with their best offensive and defensive players out for now, but I still don't believe for certain that the Titans are a quality team.

Wild Card 1: Bills - It may be weird to say the Bills are good, but they have win over the Patriots and Raiders, so you have to think they are legit.

Wild Card 2: Chargers? - Notice how confident I am here. The Chargers have tons of talent, but they haven't looked that impressive so far. The Steelers would be my other choice here, beating the Titans handily last week, but the defense is aging and the O-line still isn't that good.

Note: As a Jets fan, I didn't want to leave them off, but at 2-3 in a division with the Pats and Bills, I just don't see it right now.

    NFC:

NFC East: Giants - To be honest, I don't know why I think the Giants will win the division. But the Eagles are a mess, the Cowboys are wildly inconsistent (granted so are the Giants), and who actually thinks the Redskins are good?

NFC North: Packers - Sorry Lions fans, but unless you win on Thanksgiving, this spot belongs to the currently undefeated Super Bowl champs.

NFC West: 49ers - The Rams are a joke and the Cardinals just gave up 28 points in a quarter, so they're out. The Seahawks did win the division last year and just beat the Giants, but the 49ers clearly look like the best team after blowing out Tampa Bay.

NFC South: Saints - They barely beat the Panthers, but they are 4-1, with they're only loss coming to Green Bay, so it seems like the division is theirs to lose.

Wild Card 1: Lions - They're 5-0 for the first time since the 1950s (1956 I think). While their secondary isn't stellar, a good D-line and an explosive passing attack go a long way.

Wild Card 2: Tampa Bay? - Okay, I know they just got destroyed by the 49ers, but the only other above .500 team not previously mentioned was the Redskins, and I'm not putting them in yet. I want to put a different team in, but no teams from the NFC East or West can be taken seriously, plus Atlanta and Chicago haven't looked very impressive against quality teams. If I had to choose a team to swap I'd pick Atlanta, but I still have some trust in the Bucs despite this past week.

  • If I asked you in the preseason which team in the AFC East would be 3-0 after week 3...?

...I'm guessing most of you would have guessed wrong. Which brings me to my next point; how serious of a playoff contender do you think the Bills are going to be? They've clearly been one of the best performing teams these first 3 weeks (granted 2 of the games wer against scrubs). I'm not saying they're the best, but the offense has been great and the defense just got 4 picks off of Brady.

So, do you think the Bills have a chance to:

    a) Make the playoffs?

    b) Win the division?

  • Help withC structs/strings?

So, I have a function that takes in a string as a paramater (char* name) and i try to set this as the name inside an employee struct by doing this:

    (emp_pointer->name) = name;

    emp_pointer is a pointer to a struct, name is the field in the struct defined as char name[100];

However, I get an error saying the types are incompatible in the assignment. I've tried changing things and the one time i got it to run i got the wrong string. Any ideas what to do?

  • Playoff picture after week 1?

Now that each team has played a game, it is time for all of us to make irrational decisions based off of an obscenely small number of games so that we can be ridiculed when our predictions are terribly wrong! :)

Seriously though, after seeing each team in action this week, which teams do you think will make the playoffs? (you can split it into division winners and wild cards if you want to)

    My prediction:

    AFC:

    AFC East: Patriots

    AFC North: Ravens

    AFC West: Chargers

    AFC South: Texans

Wild Cards: Jets, Raiders (in that division why not?)

    NFC:

    NFC East: Eagles

    NFC North: Packers

    NFC West: 49ers

    NFC South: Saints

    Wild Card: Lions, Buccaneers

  • Effect of the new kickoff rule?

How much of an effect do you think it will actually have on the games? Obviously, based on last night's game, there are going to more touchbacks this year than last year, but some of the kicks that were touchbacks last night probably would have been touchbacks last year too. Besides, Cobb ran one back for the Packers and Sproles got a kick return into Packer territory (or at least it was around the 50). So, in your opinion, how much of an effect will the new rules actually have?

  • What characters should be in the new Super Smah Bros.?

It was announced at E3 2011 that a new Super Smash Bros. was in the making for both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. While the game isn't set to release for another couple of years, I was wondering what people thought would be good character additions to the game (that means they didn't appear in any of the previous games).
