extraction of caffein from beverages?
I wanted to know if there is anyone out there that has say a "textbook" method for extracting caffein from beverages (ie coffee, tea, or mabey moutain dew). It doesnt have to be a consumable product. just for fun
If that is not possible mabey the solubility of caffein, and nicotien if possible, in certain solvents (primarily methylene chloride, benzene, or toluene).
For any responders dont think of me being lazy for I would love to search more if only it wasnt 5:00am here. its appreciated greatly.
2 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoHg metal from HgO?
Can the reaction caused by heating mercury (II) Oxide be done on a large scale to produce mercury metal. If so would a 500mm liebig be sufficient to condense to mercury.
i was thinking of something like a 500ml distillation flask, with about 200grams of HgO in it, hooked to a 500mm liebig. heat the flask with a torch and mercury drops out of condensor. Right?
