  • Who's the guy in the profile picture for Daymond Langkow in EA NHL 12?

He looks like a cross between Danny Briere and Rico Fata. Man EA fails.

(wasn't sure whether to put this in hockey or video game section, went here 'cause figured hockey knowledge would be better)

    :)

  • NFL Fantasy Help Please?

My fantasy draft is tonight, earlier than I expected, and I've been being kinda lazy lately on following news.

Can anyone link a good website that has up-to-date info on holdouts/injuries/etc...

I'm at work and can't sit and browse too much.

    Thanks in advance.

  • What's the deal with Hines Ward?

Not starting him this week in my pool 'cause he's not playing, but they say it's not injury related and I can't find any info anywhere on why he's not playing.

    Anyone know?

  • Kane pleads guilty, thoughts?

I didn''t see it coming, I thought he was going to be exonerated, his lawyer seemed so sure of it.

Was it maybe a case of plead guilty so I can put it behind me and move on with hockey about to start rather than have this drag on for a year?

I've noticed that every single time a player of any sport, hockey, football, etc, is accused of something, assault, rape, whatever, it's always right before the pre-season for whatever sport is about to start, 'cause people know they don't want to deal with this and courtst and media while focusing on their job.

Is it let's extort them now and they'll just settle to get it over with.

  • Put up or shut out...?

...often I see people making trivia here, I usually enjoy answering them so I decided to make my own to let them have a chance to answer for a change.

    :D

    1) Who was the first goaltender to post a REGULAR season game shutout and still lose the game?

    2) Who were the first pair of goalies to share a shutout; record a shutout for the SAME team in the SAME game? (Technically neither is actually credited with a shut-out in the NHL stat's log, but, c'mon, we know they both got shutouts).

    3) What NHL 'tender finished with a career record of 0-0-1 with the one being a shutout?

    4) Nine goalies have been credited with scoring a goal - but which 2 are the only ones who recorded a shutout in the same game?

  • Should Adam Oates get in the HHoF?

Yahoo wasn't letting me post earlier to make my case that Oates should be in the HHoF in a previous question.

    My case is this:

    - Has 2nd most career points of all retired players that are eligible for the HHoF besides behind only Stevie Y.

    - 1420 regular season points, (16th) all-time, ahead of such names as: Dale Hawerchuck, Guy Lafleur, Peter Stastny, Jari Kurri, Denis Savard, Mike Gartner (all of whom are inducted into the HHoF already) and more than other candidates Brett Hull, Doug Gilmour, Dave Andreychuck, etc...

    - 6th all Time in regular season Assists, even ahead of Yzerman in this category: And also ahead of a few other lesser knowns like Mario Lemieux, Gordie Howe, Marcel Dionne, Joe Sakic and Jaromir Jagr ;)

    - 6 Lady Byng nominations.

    - Another candidate this year is Brett Hull (who played with Oates for 3 seasons, scoring 72–86–70 goals, when Hull was not centered by Oates, he never scored more than 60 goals).

    So, what do you think?

  • Balsillie's next chance to own a hockey team?

If the co-owners of the Tampa Bay Lightning Oren Koules and Len Barrie can't reach an agreement wherein one buys the other one out and assumes the debt to previous owner Palace Sports & Entertainment, the league may look to sell the team.

IF this occurs, do you think Balsillie will and should make a bid or will the League just outright reject him as an owner as they have with Phoenix?

  • Should demanding a trade automatically waive you no-trade clause?

    I think so.

The no-trade is there so if the team decides to trade you, you get to know about it first rather than just hear you've been traded. You can then tell them which team you're willing to be traded to, that's fair enough, afterall. they agreed to the no-trade clause, they have to deal with that.

But when you go to them I say, I demand a trade, trade me, and then arrange it and you say, oh I have a no-trade clause, won't play for them, trade me somewhere else, that's BS. You're putting a gun-to their head (figuratively obviously) so why should they be forced to limit who they can deal with?

You don't want a trade and I want to trade you but you have a NTC? You can say where you wan to go.

But you demand to be traded, I'll trade you but your going wherever the f**k I tell you you are!

  • Where will the Sedins end up?

Who has the cap room and needs 2 top line players and will take em?

I don't think there's any way they sign with Vancouver personally. They want their money.

Vancouver turned down their 12 year/63 million pitch because it was top-loaded, high salary early with a lower salary later.

This tells me 2 things. They don't want to pay the Sedins more than 7 million a season AND their counteroffer is considerably lower then the Sedins feel they are worth. I'm gonna guess around the 6 million dollar mark.

The Sedins will want 7- 7 1/2 million if they are forced to sign short-term somewhere, after all they have each averaged over 80 points in the past 3 seasons, only 12 forwards have scored 70 points or more in each season since the lockout. Joe Thornton, Alexander Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, Pavel Datsyuk, Dany Heatley, and Ilya Kovalchuk among them. The average salary of every player in this group is just above $7.5 million.

    So, where will they go?

  • So big rumor is Penner wants out of Edmonton and that the Oil are close to making a deal for Heatley?

How good would that be for Edmonton fans, you get rid of salary cap eater/underachiever Penner and bring in Heatley in a Penner and Prospect for Healtey deal?

    Cross your fingers.
