How do I stop this flea infestation?
We have taken our dogs to the groomers for flea baths, bombed the house to kill fleas living here, put Frontline Plus on our animals... it isn't working. Our backyard can't be infested because it's entirely cement. We have a massive pool in our backyard and not the tiniest bit of vegetation. In addition to the baths, bombs, and Frontline, I have also washed their bedding several times, and have used a home defense spray on the carpeting in all rooms of the house (which is supposed to kill fleas and pests for 12 months!) I have also sprayed the outside perimeter of our property with this stuff. What more can I do to stop this damned infestation?
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoMy golden retriever is fixating on one particular dog a the dog park. What do I do?
We visit a dog park on a regular basis and there is another dog there that our dog loves to be around. As soon as he sees this particular dog, he runs over and sniffs him. He then follows this other dog around with his ears up. He's not aggressive with this dog, he just follows it wherever it goes and attempts to separate them are difficult. The only negative thing is that this dog once tried to mount my dog and my dog snapped. They had a little tussle and now the other dogs owner is concerned, understandably so (although he does nothing to stop his dog from mounting other dogs). I just dont understand my dogs fixation or what I can do to stop it. I'm worried he'll fight off another dog out of protectiveness for this dog. Any help is great, thanks!
2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow do you limit the preview text on your blog's main page?
What I mean is on my blog's homepage, it shows the full text of all my posts. How do I limit that to a 2 paragraph maximum of text viewed? I prefer that because it looks cleaner and readers can select the read more link to see the post in its entirety. By the way, I am using Blogspot. The HTML code I was using was working for a solid year, but now for some reason, it just wont. Any help or new HTML would be appreciated. Thanks!
2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoReport folder for job application material?
I am applying for a job at a major news organization and the required documents include an essay, a cover letter, resume, and up to 12 work samples. I'm wondering if it would help employers to put all the documents into a clear report folder. I'm wondering what employers prefer- report folder or just have all the papers stapled together. I'm dying to get this job, thanks for advice!
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoA US Citizen attending school in Canada... tax question!?
I am a US citizen. I was born in the US, all of my family is in the US, but I decided to go to university in Canada... with this understanding, I am renting an apartment in Canada, I live in Canada for 8 months out of the year, and I have two Canadian bank accounts. I have only been in Canada for the past 2 years attending school. This next year, I will have an on campus job, which leads to my question... I am not sure what my residency status is as I am in Canada on a student visa- but I know for tax purposes, residency is a bit different. What I want to know is how I'm supposed to go about doing my taxes next year. I know I will receive a T4 and I know I will be making no more than $3000 for the remainder of this year. Anyone who is familiar with both tax systems will be a great help

I read somewhere that "basic groceries" are not taxed. What does that apply to?
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoDoes anyone know if you can buy Vitalicious Vitatop muffins in Canada?
I found them at the Costco here in the states, but I'm wondering if stores in Canada sell them. I will be in Ottawa, btw, so if anyone knows any particular store, lemme know!
2 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoHas anyone else developed a tooth clenching problem from the growing in of wisdom teeth?
After I got my bottom wisdom teeth removed, and before I got my top two removed, I believe I have been clenching my teeth off and on at night. I don't have excessive jaw pain or unexplained headaches during the day, nothing to indicate that I have a TMJ disorder. Just a general feeling of tightness and bizarre dreams of my jaw locking and what not once in a while. Any ideas?
2 AnswersDental1 decade agoUS student working on campus in Canada, how does that work with taxes?
Ok, so I'm a US student in Canada and I will be working on campus next year for pay. How does that work with taxes? I know I have to file taxes in both the US and Canada for any income I earn in Canada, but can anyone tell me what Canadian forms I'd be using? I've done Canadian taxes before for my taxation class, but I understand its quite different for someone in my situation- it isn't your typical income tax forms. Any help would be great, thanks!
1 AnswerCanada1 decade agoDo I need an off campus work permit?
I am currently a US citizen studying at a Canadian university. I had heard that students from the US can work off campus without a permit, but I haven't found any hard evidence to prove it. So can someone tell me what the rules are for US students and point me to where they found it? Thanks!
3 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoIn true blood, why doesn't Sookie react to V like Jason does?
Jason seems to be addicted to it- getting the shakes, is completely high off it, sweating like crazy when he needs more... Sookie, though, doesn't react like that after drinking Bill's blood. Why?
4 AnswersDrama1 decade agoWhat's up with the muscle above my right ankle?
I've recently taken up running and am slowly working up to running two miles. Lately, though, I've been doing 1 and 2 minute intervals and when I stop to walk, I notice pain (like a muscle trying to pull) just above my right ankle. My left is totally fine, its just my right. Anyone know what it could be? I don't feel it when I run and it wears off about a minute or two once I start walking.
4 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoWhat is wrong with my dog?
Last night, my dog hopped up and suddenly was trembling a little and rocking back and forth. His head was slowly moving back and forth (as if he was saying "no" to me) and he could move a little bit, but it was as if he didn't really recognize us or know where he was. His eyes were going back and forth sideways as his head moved and he was trembling a tiny bit. Finally, he was panting heavily afterwards and now today, its like nothing happened. Anyone know what it could be?
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI am 19 years old and significantly overweight. Does learning to distance run pose any problems to me?
I do not have any conditions- meaning I am not diabetic and I do not have any heart problems; I am completely healthy aside from my body weight. I have heard people say you shouldn't do running unless you are at a more normal weight because it will cause your joints to deteriorate more quickly. Fact or fiction?
5 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoDoes my BFF have feelings for me?
Ok, so I was drunk with my BFF several nights ago, and I have feelings for him. We've done stuff together before, always sober, and always as a means of exploring the possibility of a relationship between us, not a friends w/ benefits sort of thing. We haven't done anything since the first week of Feb because we thought that maybe we'd be better off as just friends and not as bf/gf. But lately, every time we drink, he always just looks at me in this way that clearly spells out more than friends. Now, he has had some uncertainty regarding his feelings for me and me and him both know that whatever is between us is a bit more than friends, but not quite relationship. I just want to know if its the alcohol talking with him or if his actions and comments while drunk are the complete truth, feelings he isn't aware of coming out... Any ideas? Thanks!

4 AnswersCanada1 decade ago20 and never dated, been kissed?
So I'm turning 20 in a few months and I've never dated anyone, never been romantically involved with anyone, and I've never been kissed. I feel like a freak of nature for not having any sort of experience (although despite that fact, I can pinpoint and help my friends fix all of their relationship problems) I guess I want to hear other people's stories, is there anyone else out there who was/is like me? It's just very frustrating, especially the unrequited love aspect of it all.

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoThe way to a man's heart...?
So there's this guy I'm into and he's my best friend. He has no idea I'm into him- he knew last year, but now he thinks I'm over him- and he comes over to my apartment for dinner a lot when he's through with work. It's kind of frustrating because I cook for him a lot, or we cook together, and he makes off hand comments about stuff like this is how his grandparents are int he kitchen and how its nice to be able to cook with someone, stuff like that. Thing is I know he's kinda heart broken over another girl and he doesn't see me like that. SO I guess what I want to know is can I get a guy to fall for me using my cooking skills and camaraderie formed in the kitchen? I kinda feel almost sure that some day he will wake up from his heart broken haze and see me and what could be between us because, for all intents and purposes, perfect together. We get along, we tease each other, are considerate of each others feelings, communicate a lot... its all there, he just doesn't see it... yet
