I have windows vista and the other pc has vista with a net-gear router and modem. and i have shared my external hard drive. but I cannot connect to it when i hit the network tab in start menu it will list the pc,s in network, I have gone to network and sharing center and configured it I have done this before and it works. I did a clean install 3 days ago and it worked fine. I installed windows doctor and run all tasks and let it do all recommended task's (never used it before) I have no restore points to restore back. Could this problem be in router or is there something in services that needs turned on ? i can go to a shared folder from my pc to a pc in my frontroom.(with vista) it has windows doctor on it too but I haven't run it as much. If there is any questions I will try to answer them immediately.

I did a clean install of windows xp. installed network drivers. and this P.C. has a usb wireless netgear router. we installed driver for that. and it will not connect to wireless router on the network. before the clean install of windows we were able to use NETWORK MAGIC to connect. I did not do anything to the settings of my router. On security setting my router is set to NONE. Can anyone help with this problem

when I open it in office it says : Excel cannot open the file \'PHONE BOOK.xlsx\' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file. instead of a xl file it's a xlsx file now. I have tried converters and they didn't work. Can anyone help or should I just give up and delete it? I'll try anything.

I have a DELL LATITUDE D 300 XT laptop it will not load boot menu when pushing F12 on start up. it will go into set up when pushing F2 while pushing F12 a tiny line will flash for a split sec. then pc will start. I want to do a fresh install because we dont have admin. password. and it wont go past login screen. I'm 99.9% sure key pad is working fine. Can any body help? I want to do a fresh install.

when the operating temp reaches the proper temp my motor will idle rough and will stall at stop lights but will restart. I have replaced the camshaft position sensor and the coolant sensor. some people say it could be fuel filter or fuel pump (but i don't think so?. ) it runs good going down highway or in town as long as you don"t stop at a stop light when i do i have to rev the motor up about 700 rpms 550 is norm. or put it in neutral and i will not stall . Can any help with ideas or has had this problem please help im pulling my hair out and can"t afford mechanic. Thanks

i installed xp on my optional hard drive my main drive had vista. could see both drives. But when i decided to take xp off i formated that drive. and now it wont load up vista. so i tried to reinstall vista from boot from cd and it went through all steps but when it came to final install and did a restart it came up as not a bootable cd. can any one help? im on a different pc now. if you need more info please ask for it and i will try to answer it

just recently on my pc my google chrome browser will not open it only times out. I uninstalled and reinstalled no help. I have three others on same network and they all work fine. Can someone give me a clue on what is happening

WHEN I LEFT FOR WORK THIS MORN. I HAD 190 gigs free on my hard drive and know i only have 132 gigs of space left now. I download torrents and use Utorrent. and this has never happened before.

I normally stay around 190 gig Its not adding up. Can a virus do this or could some one hack my PC through Utorrent cant find the added stuff. I only have a single partition on drive c. can anyone answer this.

Did a fresh install of vista ultimate with no service packs I was already connected to internet.

I had service pack 2 saved to a folder. Then I started installing it then I got updates that had service pack 1 and many more. Should I install these? or will SP2 be all the updating I need for now?

Do I need windows defender on start up programs if I use the free version of AVG 9 and should AVG be a start up program or does it run automatic. I'm running vista

can someone tell me why media player doesn't see mp3 player? mp3 driver installs and pc see's it but media player doesn't when i want to sync music to it. what can i do to repair? tried to reinstall it from web site but i have newest version and it won't install. is there another player that can sync my music?

What does safe boot do? in system configuration then boot, active directory repair. what kind of changes does it do. just curious

I use google chrome but I have firefox too and I want to remove firefox but when I try it wont uninstall. it ask's me if I want to continue and I do but nothing happens. I can uninstall other programs. I have vista. never had this problem before so can you help?

Can I compress all of my program files? and will it cause any problems?

I experimented with a couple and didn't seem to affect it any but not sure about doing all of them. Is there any files I shouldn't compress?
