  • Indiana University in class or Online bachelor's degree?

Is there any benefit to getting one over the other? I am a mother of two with a full-time job and I am just looking to further my education and get a Bachelor's in Accounting. What would be the better route? Indiana University is just a 10 minute drive from me so I can easily attend classes there or I can go the online route and look into schools such as Indiana Wesleyan or Grand Canyon University. I want a quality education but time is also a factor. What do you recommend? What are the pros and cons of each?

  • Mandalay Bay Wave pool open in October?

We are taking our honeymoon in mid-October this year and we love staying at Mandalay Bay. One of the main reasons we like to stay there is because of the wave pool. When I look online the only information I can find is that it is open seasonally April-October. Does that mean it is open the entire month of October? Or does it close at the end of September? Someone please help!

    Thanks!

  • Make-up at Dillards? How does it work?

I live outside of Louisville, KY and I have my engagement photos coming up this week. I would like to get my makeup done and I have never tried to get it done at Dillards. Can you just walk in and ask them to do your makeup? Is there a required minimum purchase? Are they actually really good at putting makeup on? I can book a salon and get my makeup done for $35 and I know it will be professionally done, can I get away for less than that at Dillards? Which makeup is best?

    Thanks for any help!

  • How can I add animal print to my bridesmaids for the wedding?

Hi, I am doing my wedding in oasis (davids bridal), brown and fuchsia with little hints of different animal prints. My original plan was to have the groomsmen wear certain animal print ties, and then have the corresponding bridesmaids wear jewelry that matches the animal print of the tie. I was going to use leopard print for the bride and groom, zebra print for the MOH and BM, and then tiger print for the rest of the groomsmen and bridesmaids. I am having a really hard time finding animal print jewelry that is nice enough and that matches. Is there another way to incorporate the animal print into the bridesmaids to match the groomsmen?

  • Can anyone tell me about the Smoky Cove Resort in Pigeon Forge?

I have found a cabin with a great rate that I really like in Smoky Cove resort. From the directions it sounds like its about 3 miles away from the Parkway. Does anyone know what the roads are like leading up to this cabin resort? I am deathly afraid of mountain roads like the one that goes to Ober Gatlinburg, and I would prefer not to have to drive up and down one of those everyday. What are the roads like in rainy weather? We visited the same time last year and it rained a couple of the days we were there, so I want to be prepared. About how long (in minutes) is the drive from the Parkway? Also any experiences, good or bad, with the resort would be great.

    Thanks for any help!

  • What do you do with an unused pool?

We have an inground pool in our backyard that came with the house when we bought it. We had planned on using it but when the cover broke in an ice storm last year, we found that there really isn't much of a shallow end and since we have two small children I don't think its a good pool for them. Our next choice was to have it removed, but we got a quote of $5000 which is more than the cost to get the pool running, and more than we really have. I have also heard from a few people that removing the pool might not be good for resale value. Can we buy a new cover and just let the pool sit until we sell it a few years down the road? What would be the best thing to do if we don't plan on using it?

Also, with the option of opening it up and using it, it needs a new liner which we were quoted $2000 for the liner and installation.

  • Is there any way to add exemptions to your property tax?

I have lived in my house for 3 years now, and no one informed me that I needed to file for exemptions on my property tax. My property tax has been low, and yesterday I got a bill for my property tax and it went up $2000 because I didn't file the exemptions. My fiance had owned a home previously and never had to file for exemptions. This is going to add about $200/month to our house payment which we really can't afford. Is there any way to go back and add the exemptions for the current year? Is there an appeal for circumstances like this? I really had no idea I was supposed to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • American Superstars at Stratosphere Las Vegas?

I know it is silly, but I wanted to see this show the first time we went to Vegas and we never did. We have now been there 4 times together and still have never seen it so I kind of want to see it next week when we go.

    Here are my questions

Are there any discounts currently going on for American Superstars at the half price ticket booths or in the magazines?

Is it worth it to buy the package with dinner, drink passes, and tower passes instead of using a buy 1 get one free discount?

Is the show worth seeing and who are the impersonators right now?

    Thanks for any info!

  • Wedding in the Louisville area?

I am on a very limited budget for my wedding next October. I am looking for a location to have the wedding ceremony and reception that will let me bring my own food. I don't know anyone with a nice, big backyard or I would just do that. I found a place about an hour outside of Louisville, but I'm afraid that it might be too far, and I don't know if it is big enough.

The most important factors are it has to be close to Louisville and I don't want to have to use a caterer, my Mom wants to do the food. Also, the rent must be less than $1000.

Thanks for any help you can give, this is driving me nuts!

  • How do you go about suing a vacation homeowner for breach of contract?

My daughter's girl scout troop took a trip to Orlando earlier this month and they rented 2 vacation homes to accomodate everyone. When they arrived, they met one of the homeowners at the nearby Walmart to pay her the rest of the balance on the house. Then when they arrived at the house, it was too dirty to stay in, especially with children. The oven had never been cleaned, there was food still on the dishes, trash on the floor including a used nail file, stains on the couch, carpet, pool table, and dining room seats, a hole in the air hockey table, urine around the base of the toilet, a dirty grill, etc. Even the police said they were in breach of contract but they could not do anything about it. So we spent the whole week with 16 people staying in a house that sleeps 10- NOT FUN. We tried contacting them as soon as we found the problems in the home and they dodged our calls until later that evening when we called from a different phone. Then they proceeded to call us liars and overexaggerators and they refused to come look at the property. The girl scouts are out $750 that went to her, and they couldn't even use the house. They have been raising money since last August to pay for the trip. Who is the correct person or organization to contact to get this dealt with? We want our money back for the rental and court costs.

  • Putting a deck over your unused pool?

We have an inground pool that requires some work in order to be used and we really don't want the headache of the maintenance and costs associated with running a pool. I was reading a site about "deckovers" in Arizona where they build a very sturdy deck over your pool, and set it up so that it drains itself underneath for no maintenance, you can even use it for storage space. Has anyone done this before? About how much does it cost? I live in wouthern Indiana, does anyone know of any companies that do this kind of work here?

    Thanks!

  • Inexpensive way to ship shoes within the US?

I need to ship 6 pairs of toddler girls shoes (size 6) together from southern Indiana to New York. When I use the postal calculator, the cheapest I can find is over $10. How do people only charge $3-$7 for shipping things like this? I also need to ship one pair of girls shoes (size 1.5) to New York. What is the cheapest way to do this? I don't think the single pair of shoes will fit in the small flat rate box that ships for $4.85 and the next biggest box ships for over $10. Please Help!

  • Affordable condos in Disney World for group of 24?

We are taking our Girl Scout troop to Disney World in June. We currently have reservations at a hotel, but it breaks down to $117 per person for 7 nights. That is based on 3 suites that sleep 8 people each. I am looking for something a little cheaper than that because some of the parents are having a hard time coming up with that along with the ticket prices and food, etc. Basically we are trying to save money wherever we can. The requirements for the room would be

    1. Has to sleep 8 people each

    2. Has to have a free shuttle to Disney World and Seaworld

    3. Has to have a kitchen

Does anyone know of a condo community that would have 3 condos available for rent in the same area for less than $900/week?

    Thanks for any help!

  • Large Vegas Suites with Balcony?

I am looking into having my wedding in Las Vegas next year, and was wondering about renting a suite for the reception. I have looked up a lot of suites at MGM, Mandalay Bay, and Bellagio. My favorite is the MGM Terrace Suite, but it's so expensive. I have my budget set at $1500 for wedding, reception, and photography and renting the Terrace suite would really be pushing it. Is there anything less expensive on the strip with a terrace/balcony and a great view?

  • Vegas Wedding or wedding at home with Vegas Honeymoon?

I just got engaged and have been working on research for when and where I want to have the wedding. I really wanted to have a more traditional wedding, married in church followed by nice reception with catering and a bar and all of my friends and family. Then take our honeymoon to Las Vegas. I came up with maybe a Las Vegas theme for the wedding just because I think the decorations for the reception could be awesome. When I mentioned it to my fiance, he said if I wanted to that we may as well have the wedding in Vegas and pay for trips for my best friend, his best friend, my mom, and our 2 girls. Then we could send invitations to everyone else and whoever could afford to come could, and whoever couldn't could join us at the reception when we get back. I have been getting very overwhelmed lately with looking up wedding stuff and everything involved in planning it, I haven't even starting doing anything, just research. It seems like it would be easier to do the Vegas thing.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Sending out an invitation like a regular wedding but having the actual wedding far away, and the reception at home? What would you recommend taking into consideration costs, convenience, ease of stress, etc?

I was going to try to spend $5000 on the wedding and $5000 on the honeymoon, but after looking up caterers, venues, photographers, dresses, etc I think it will take up the entire $10,000. At this point we just got engaged so we don't have anything saved for a wedding and I was hoping to have it by October of 2010.

  • Do the per person charges for an open bar include charging for the guests under 21?

Since some of our guests will be children, are they included in the per person charge for alcohol? I found a place that charges $11 per person for a bar that includes beer and wine. If I have 50 guests, but only 40 of them are over 21, do I still pay $11 per minor?

  • How does marriage affect our Taxes?

We have been together for 5 years, and have 1 daughter together, I have one daughter from a previous relationship. Every year he claims our daughter, and I claim my daughter, and we both get pretty good tax returns, but he gets around $5000 because of Earned income credit. I want to plan a wedding for next year, but he is worried about how much our tax returns will go down if we do that.

If it helps, I make $45000 per year, and because he is a server his recorded wages are about $11000 per year.

  • Which computer should I buy?

Our computers are old and are about to bite the dust. I need to find a computer to replace them with, but I want to be sure I have enough of what I need for less than $500. The computer will basically be used for internet, online games (for kids), and burning dvd's, and storing pictures. I want the internet to be able to run fast without the computer slowing it down.

Could I get a laptop that would do all of this well? Would it be better to get a laptop or desktop? How do you access internet when you are traveling, at hotels or even at local coffee shops?

Thanks! I'm trying to learn all of this.
