Help me name my gelding?
Purebred Arabian gelding. Very red body with a flaxen mane and tail. He has kind of a quirky and playful personality. I want kind of an earthy name or something uncommon or foreign.
5 AnswersHorses10 years agoAm I wrong to think this is a bad idea?
I know a person who seems to think it is okay that if somebody cuts them off in traffic or does something dangerous on the road that it is okay to follow them to wherever they are going and confront them when they get out of their car.
I think this is not only dangerous, but a stupid idea. If this person is driving dangerously what makes you think they are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol? What makes you think they don't have a gun or a knife? Just because it is in public doesn't mean you're not going to get shot or stabbed.
I think my friend is being cocky and arrogant. He thinks I'm talking nonsense. My hometown has had a shooting and stabbing in a public place over road rage this year alone. I think it's just wrong to try and take that into your own hands. He said he could put "quick moves" on the guy if he had a gun or knife. I'm sorry, nobody is faster than a bullet.
He thinks I'm crazy for thinking that is dangerous, so what do you think? Is it dangerous to follow a stranger to a location then get out of your car and chew them out? Why can't you just follow them and get their license plate number and report them?
3 AnswersEtiquette10 years agoEstrogen Dominance and Seizures?
When I was 17 I started having bad seizures. Only they came once every 5.5 months. It was scary, and my doctor said he didn't think I was even having seizures because he didn't think it was possible to have seizures that far apart. I went to a neurologist and he told me to take topamax, which I only took for 3 days because the side effects were terrible. From then on, I started keeping track of symptoms and always had them every 5.5 months like clockwork. Then I started taking a low estrogen birth control and they went away for a couple years. Without thinking I went off the birth control and they returned at the same rate, but only in my sleep. After 3 episodes, I returned to the low estrogen birth control and still no problem.
Considering what I have read about estrogen linked to seizures, and the fact my mother had an estrogen fed breast cancer, I was wondering if estrogen dominance is in fact genetic, and what I should do if I ever go off birth control, like if I want to become pregnant. I read pregnancy usually won't cause seizure issues because you are letting off more progesterone, but after you deliver or during delivery your estrogen levels can surge and you can start experiencing seizures.
What is frustrating is my doctor won't even acknowledge that I have seizures because none of my many tests came out abnormal. I'm trying to find a better doctor who will at least test my hormones before making assumptions. Although my doctor did try and push more seizure medication even though he didn't believe I had seizures.
And yes, I live a very healthy lifestyle and I don't consume much that is artificial, so it is not caused from my diet, as I've done a lot of reading on that as well.
1 AnswerCancer1 decade agoDebating on a puppy, and names...?
Debating between two puppies I looked at today. One is a mousey brown color, and the other is black with a white spot on his chest. The brown one has a smooth coat and green/tan eyes, and the black one has a coarse double coat. They are both retriever type pups.
What one should I choose, and what could I possibly name them? They are both males.
12 AnswersDogs1 decade agoSeizure every 5.5 months?
When I was 17, I had a seizure at work in the bathroom alone. I didn't know what it was back then, until 5.5 months later I had a seizure at home with my parents there. I had an EEG, a catscan, an MRI, and even a spinal tap, all normal. But 5.5 months later I have another one. Thinking where I was working was causing these, since I was having sleep problems since I started there, I quit my job, and went 18 months without a seizure. But on Christmas morning I woke up feeling sick and my tongue was chewed. I blew it off until the other day (my birthday) I woke up feeling sick and disoriented and my tongue was once again chewed.
I don't want to go to the doctor because they will just try and give me drugs instead of doing more tests. But I don't know what could be causing these, or maybe they're not seizures at all (although the fact my tongue was chewed on makes it pretty believable.) I don't know if this is hormonal, or if I hurt myself or what?
Anybody else have this problem?
1 AnswerOther - Diseases1 decade agoLive an extremely healthy lifestyle but still overweight?
I eat right. I seriously am practically an expert on nutrition. I eat meat once or twice a week, but get most protein from either quiona, or beans. I don't drink soda, I drink very little juice or milk, mostly a tea and water drinker. I obviously load up on fruits and vegetables.
On top of that I exercise, I work out at the gym, I have 4 horses I work with and ride almost every day on top of that. I strength train and do cardio. I don't know what else to do. But I am still over weight.
Anybody else have this problem? I don't know what I'm doing wrong. my blood pressure is 112/72, and I'm not diabetic or anything. I'm healthy in every way but I am a size 6/8. What is frustrating is I have friends and family who eat bad and never exercise and are like a size 0/2.

My father purchased a horse from a friend in Arkansas. They call this horse "Bubba" but we don't really care for that name. His Registered name is "Dry Call." We are just looking for something to call him besides Bubba. We are not looking to change his registered name or anything. Any suggestions? He is a Bay Quarter Horse.
15 AnswersHorses1 decade agoGoing from extreme insomnia to extreme sleepiness?
Ever since I was 17 I have been going from periods of extreme insomnia, sometimes for weeks at a time, to the opposite, where I sleep up to 18 hours at a time and have no problem going back to sleep whenever I want. What gives? I thought it was hormonal, but I went on a low dose birth control that was suppose to stabilize my hormones and I still go through this. I really do not have a problem with being able to sleep for long periods at a time, but I hate the insomnia.
I have also had seizures from age 17 to 18, but no reason for them was ever found. The hospital even tried inducing a seizure and I just couldn't go into one. I was also getting them every 5 and a half months but then they stopped and I haven't had one for a year and a half. I've had about every test done from CAT scans and MRI's to Spinal Taps and nothing appears to be wrong with me. But I really wonder if there could be a link between my past seizures and my sleep problems, or maybe it's just my age.
Anybody educated enough in this sort of thing to give a logical answer?
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoHow should I handle this Situation?
My boyfriends little brother, (13) really loves horses so I take him out to ride one of my horses about once or twice every other weekend and give him free lessons.
Recently, he has been wanting his friend to come out with him and watch him ride. I do not allow his friend to ride because it is a safety and liability issue, and his parents haven't signed any papers allowing him to ride. Because of this I do not even want his friend out at the stable because there are safety issues even if he is not on a horse, but just around them.
My boyfriend's brother (Josh) asks why his friend (Matt) can't come out and tries asking me how Matt is a bad kid. I personally think Matt is a great kid but I really just want to be responsible for one kid, not another kid who's parents I don't even know.
How do I tell Josh his friend can't come out with him to the stable without sounding mean?

6 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWould this be considered harassment?
A guy who I barely know at my apartment added me as a friend on facebook. I accepted and a month later he starts sending me messages asking me to have sex with him. I told him I am in a serious relationship and I would never cheat on my boyfriend. (He also has a girlfriend, who he's having a kid with.) Still, he kept insisting we have sex and not tell anybody. He also started getting graphic and I just stopped talking to him altogether. Was what he was doing considered sexual harassment? I had told him I didn't want him talking like that and he kept doing it. I'm really creeped out and do not even want to go back to my apartment without my boyfriend with me.
6 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoBoyfriend and his computer games...?
Anybody else ever been with somebody who was great but had an addiction to something you thought was just completely stupid?
My boyfriend plays Everquest (Ever-crack as I call it). He will play it late into the night, with his face inches from the screen. Then his brain will be so stimulated he won't be able to sleep and will take my prescription sleeping medication. He is a great guy, and he keeps in shape. But that stupid game will consume him during any of his spare time. We hardly do anything because he has to "Raid".
So any other people out there who have a loved one consumed with something ridiculous? Tell me what it is.

I am looking to work as a non certified pharmacy technician while going to college. The job I am being offered is part time (28 hours a week). I haven't been told how much I would make at that job, so I was wondering if anybody knew the average salary for someone who is a non certified pharmacy technician?
