Dare I say it - the Super Bowl commercials were not that good? Do you agree?

... Or disagree? What were your favorites? Do you think they could've done better?

I was disappointed. I think they have been better in the past. I am NOT a Jessica Simpson fan, but with all the build up I was looking forward to seeing her spot......which I never did see. Did anyone?

I did think the "magic refrigerator" was funny, but at $2.5 million per 30 second spot, I expected ALOT more.

I agree. This year's commercials were disappointing and they were not as funny as they were in the past. It seems to me that the super bowl commercials are losing their creativity and originality. In fact, a lot of the commercial time was wasted this year. There were a couple of commercials that made me laugh, but most of them were advertising cars in a non comical way, or commercials that were more informational and not entertaining. Overall, I thought this was the worst year for super bowl ads. The time that these companies spent, it was wasted and I felt that if these companies are going to spend millions of dollars, they should at least make it worth the viewing time. I do agree, the commercials are getting worse every year, and that is because the sponsors in charge are making terrible suggestions that are actually being utilized, and as a result you have ads that are not worth watching and thus being deemed ineffective. The commercials back in 2008 were better than this year's.

the superbowl commercial has become a spectacle, more than an attempt at decent advertising, so it's become this contest of "who can do the most outrageous thing, and get a reaction out of someone?" rather than something actually GOOD, like the apple computer commercial in 1984.
there's definitely room for improvement.

yes but as long as you have 20 million dollars you can put a commercial on ,i'm suprised they didn't have a fertilizer commercial with classical music playing in the background ,also with a holy chant sound along with it, and a great big pile of cow pooh in the middle .bill gates would be the type to afford that

I loved the Budweiser one with the baby Clydesdale and the Budweiser with the little streaker goat, but other than that, they weren't so good. Not as good as last years were. My favorite was the Reebok one with Terry Tate mowing people down in the office.
