5 dollars per mile per hour.

There does not seem to be any above the speed limit miles per hour in California that determines reckless driving.

It's going to be really expensive because California has different levels of speeding 5 miles over, 10 miles over, 15 miles over and 15+ miles over. Since you were going 17 miles over the posted speed limit, you're fees will also include wreckless driving. Most 15+ miles over you won't even be allowed to go to traffic school to "hide" it from you automotive insurance.

Sorry for the bad news.

I stand corrected by the post after mine. The term is not reckless driving, it's Excessive Speeding.

(1) Excessive speeding, as defined pursuant to the federal Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act (P.L. 99-570) involving any single offense for any speed of 15 miles an hour or more above the posted speed limit.

I answered this once. Perhaps you don't need to ask it twice. Can't say how much it will cost you.

But as for your front plates, you don't need mounts. Your plates can beattached to the front bumber. Holes are easily made.

I got one about 10 years ago going 87 in a 65 and it was $277.00. I imagine it will be more now.
