Get a mechanic to certify that your framazoid was faulty and he replaced it on a date after the ticket was issued.
Most judges will dismiss a ticket if you can prove that faulty equipment contributed to a false reading on your speedometer.

Go to the courthouse -- they may let you ake traffic school instead. But if not, say you are contesting it.
Then hope when your trial comes, that the police office who ticketted you does not show up. If the officer does not show up, you'll beat the ticket. Otherwise, you have to pay.

pay the ticket.
I do not believe that you can just get off a speeding ticket, because it is your word against a police officers, and the judge will most likely favor the officer.
I think the plates are irrelevant in this case.

The only thing you can do is to take the ticket to the courtroom and HOPE the judge dismisses it. If it is dismissed, then you will not have to pay it, but if it is not, you will have to pay the fine AND court fees.

Contact the local district attorneys office with your situation. Explain to them your age & its your first ticket. They SHOULD have options for you.
