Does driving stick make you better?

I can barely find any stick shifts, and despite desperately wanting to drive one, they are barely supported anymore or fixed. I'm a good driver, but it just feels like I'm missing something if I don't drive stick

    "Better" at what?

Better driver?  Not necessarily, only a slightly more involved driver...

There’s a lot more to good driving than choosing which gear to be in.

Steering, braking,Positioning , anticipation and correct speed for the road are far more important things to master.

It does not make you any better.  I finally gave in to an automatic about 5 years ago.  I should have done it much earlier.

Driving stick is a lot more engaging and involved. There are certain vehicles where you are missing the point if you get it in automatic like a Mazda MX-5. Any qualified mechanic should know how to do a clutch.

That is not what makes you better at life, no.

I drive a 10 speed tractor trailer every day. So I requested a stick shift on my new car when I ordered it. It was not easy to locate one.
