I sit indian style a lot and my feet/legs are constantly falling asleep. Why does this happen? Should I be worried? I don't want to have to change the way I sit because sitting indian style is really the only way I am comfortable, if not for my feet falling asleep on me.

When you sit on your leg the blood stops flowing to it.Your nerves give out a warning. We all know how the warning feels like.
Your feet fall asleep because when you sit in an indian style position you are cutting off your blood circulation to your feet which makes them "fall asleep".it is nothing to worry about unless you do it for so long that your feet turn blue and they lose all feeling.
If you have had your shoes for a while it is most likely your shoes. Your feet are worked hard when you run so they need the best they can get. It is probably a good idea to replace your shoes. Also make sure you are not tying your shoes too tight or favoring your left foot more than your right when you are going up hills, stairs, or whatever. Try to ignore it unless it is painful. Sometimes the mind plays trick on you, most likely this is a phase and if you do everything above it'll run it's course then stop. Good luck.
I sit the same way, even at the dinner table...I know how rude! It's because you're sitting with your legs bent up, and you are cutting off the flow of blood to your feet. You need to unbend every so often so the blood flow can reach your feet again. Cutting off the flow of blood to any part of your body for a long period of time is not good. Unbend, stretch, resume sitting position. That's how I do it!
Try drinking a lot of water and try to stretch your legs once in a while when you are sitting indian style. Don't force you weight to your legs by slouching forward. This is because not everyone is built the same.
