Any medical pro.s out there? My mom ran over herself with her own car!?

Long story short, she jumped out of the car ( thought she ran over the puppy ), threw in R not P. She fell and was pinned by the door which drug her 20 ft. She hurt her knee and her back is really sore.
1.the knee is slightly swollen, fluid in it
2.pain with just a blanket lying on it
3.fine when straight, but when she bends it feels "like stitches ripping."
She stayed off for the first 2 days, then she went back to walking around. After a week she has decided to get off it.
She's only using ice pack, no heat. She's really scared to go to the doc. Help!

Blackvipe1, could she give me some things to scare my mother with and some advice to give her as far as taking care of herself?

Also, are blood clots something to worry about?

I recommend you need to get to a doctor ASAP! this is not something to mess around with. I ask my wife and she is a RN in Mexico. She says see a doctor Immedeately.

Definitely need to see a doctor. It sounds like the best thing to do for the knee right now is the RICE method: rest, ice, compression, and elevate, while waiting for the doctor. But you definitely need to get so medical help with something like that.

Take her to the Doctor. Doesn't sound good and a hurt knee is nothing to ignore.

Tell her to grow up and go to the doctor. Her only other choices are taking advice from people who have nothing better to do than offer unsupported advice on the internet (I include myself) or to trust her own instincts, and she is someone who ran overself with her own car.

The knee has been hurt badly. Sorry, I hate going to the doctors myself, but if it is to heal right she needs x-rays to see how bad the muscles been damaged.
