I like to party - I go out every weekend and drink a lot - does this effect my ability to get pregnant?

I would definately stop drinking when I get pregnant but I like to have fun while I can - Anybody know if this effects my ability to get pregnant (my husband drinks too - does it effect him)

yes alcohol affects both men and women's fertility. Men produce less sperm and less good quality sperm when they drink a lot and women ovulate less frequently. A little bit won't do too much but if you want to get pregnant maybe cut it down or out completely. Ask your nurse for more advice as there are lots of other things that alcohol affects too

not at all, but it may mean that you aren't quite ready. Doctors recommend that you stop drinking and eat healthy before hand but they recommend that to everybody because drinking kills your liver and pregnancy can also be hard on your organs so it doesn't effect your chances of getting pregnant but it does effect your chances of keeping a healthy baby.

No its not all beer your drinking. Its all that coke your doing. Doing a lot of coke is great when your on a diet but sucks for haveing kids. Or mabey you just have some kind of metical problem. See a docter and go to an AA meeting.

It affects your ability to be a parent, that's for sure. I have a friend who got pregnant during a very wild destructive period in her life. She told me she thought her body was too poluuted to get pregnant. Well, surprise surprise, she got pregnant anyway (and had a lovely healthy girl).

Don't use alcohol to promote or prevent pregnancy. If you want kids, start taking care of yourself.

yes, alchohol will diminish his sperm count and he won't have many happy swimmers...i don't know how it is for women, but if you're really trying to get pregnant, i'd quit the drinking b/c you won't know when you're pregnant at first...what if you get pregnant and go out drinking and lose the baby? not very responsible...i think you should grow up and mature more and get over this "i love to party" stage before you consider taking on this responsibility...
