My tattoo is a scar from my past. It represents the importance of that time and the symbolism it still holds. I have it to remind me of who I am. I dont need it , I like it. My tattoo is of a dragonfly. It reminds me of growing up around fresh water creeks as a child and watching these amazingly beautiful pilots whizzing across the surface of the water. I had it put on at a time of intense transition from adolescence to adulthood. Dragonfly's also symbolize change. As I grow older its a lovely guage of time, and I love that it will be with me when I die one day, another change in my life.

I was always against getting a tatoo for myself but I did admire nice body art, When I was 35 I became a grandmother, my son asked if he could get a tat and he would buy me one for moths day..Of course I said ok. I got a bueatifil unicorn with my grandaughters name under neath. My son got a chinese dragon. we both got it at the back of our right shoulder. I will never get another one however because it was so painfull.Liken it to a red hot razor cutting into your skin..I just wish I never had any name put there..
