The war in Afghanistan - yes. He was obliged to,
because that's where Al Qaeda was. But I think the
911 bombing was a distraction from his real agenda -
Iraq. I think he had the Iraq invasion on his mind
before he became president. WMD turned out to be
bull s---. The idea of fighting for oil makes no sense.
It would have been cheaper to just buy the oil from
Iraq. It's not like we're getting for free. And even
if we're getting a discount, I'm sure it's far
out weighed by the cost of the war.
The only purpose I can think of, is that Bush wanted
to get the US strategically positioned in the Mid East.
But he won't admit it.

No, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, nor did he have WMDs that was the whole premise of going to war. Where's Bin Ladin?
