Women who have had C-sections.....?

Is it possible to ever get your tummy back to normal or even close to normal again? I've had 2 c-sections and have a "vertical" scar, but the scar tissue is so thick I'm afraid it will never go away.

I don't mean the scar itself....I mean flattening of the tummy due to the thickness of the scar tissue.

I've also had 2 c-sections, and I'm thinking, at least in my case, no. (But my scars are horizontal.)

Between the stretch mark scars and incision scars, I just don't see things going back to the what they were before without the aid of a tummy tuck to literally cut those scarred and de-elasticized areas off. I am not altogether sure if they can do much for a vertical scar.

It doesn't hurt to check out a local plastic surgeon's website, or call the office to see what they can advise. There may be some non-surgical approaches (like the scar-reduction patch "Mederma") or similar products that'd be worth trying before going under the knife.

Good luck! ;)

I had a c - section 9 years ago now and my stomach is totally back to normal. It was within 6 months of me having it done. I can barely see the scar now, it just looks like a white line which you cant really notice much.
However I don't have a vertical scar but I'm sure there is plastic surgery to cover such scarring if it bothers you that much.

The scar could be improved by a tummy tuck surgery. In fact, the "ugly" vertical scar could probably be completely removed and replaced by skin from the upper abdomen, which would be pulled down and tightened. This u could consult with ur nearest medical center which has this facility

It has been 8 years since I had my c-section. I can still see my vertical scar, it has faded somewhat, but not by much compared to other old scars. I can still see the staple holes next to it as well. I suggest just accepting it as part of who you are, learn to love it, you can wear the short bottoms instead of normal bikini bottoms.

Abdominal exercises to firm the belly. Mederma to shink and soften the scar. If this does not work, try a plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck.
