How to polish CANDLEPIN BOWLING BALLS, please!?

I inherited a nice set of candlepin balls but they seems rather dull. Is there anyway to polish them up? New ones are so shiney...

have you tried cheap mayonnaise as a polish it works wonders just put add it on as you would wax. and take it off same also works on faded paint :)
