bowling ball cleaning polishes?
How often should I clean and polish my bowling balls?

I recondition my bowling equipment once a month by placing them in the machine at the bowling center for 10 minutes after the last game I bowl. When I get home, I finish up the reconditioning with either the 800 or 1600 grit polishes by Brunswick depending on the coverstock (I have the PBA Inferno with the 800 grit finish and the Radical Inferno with the full polished pearl finish).
If I've been bowling on a heavy oil league condition for the entire month, I'll recondition my bowling equipment once every two weeks. This will keep them in tip top shape and they will last for a long time.

Talk to the pro shop guy. Depending on the cover stock,
there could be alternatives, and things to stay away from.
They have special cleaners. Some people use household
cleaners (paint thinner), but that can alter the hardness
of the coverstock. Again, depending on the type of coverstock,
it may not be a good idea to just drop it in the ball polishing
machine for 5 minutes. Check with you pro shop, please.
With the high-tech stocks today, they absorb the lane oil
and you may need to have your ball spun to remove it.
If the ball is not reacting like you want, you may want to have to
pro shop add extra shine to it, or dull it by sanding. Soap and
water doesn't do the trick anymore. Too many variables.
