1) Multiply each side of equation by 8; thus:

8 (-6) = 8 (x/8 + 4); 8* x/8 = x because equal to 8/8 = 1.
-48 = x + 32

2) Subtract 32 from each side of equation; thus:

-48 - 32 = x +32 - 32
-80 = x + 0
x = -80
