You can certainly be called Grandmother, because to the new baby, your mother would be Great-Grandmother.

My mom became a grandma almost 3 years ago when I had my daughter- when she started to talk she actually called my parents Oma and Opa (which is German for Grandmother and father)- then she switched it to mamaw and papaw and now my daughter calls them grandma and grandpa. Now when she sees my grandparents (her great grandparents) she called them Grandma Kohr (their last name) and Grandpa Kohr.

Sounds like you have some time to decide anyway and like my parents I am sure your name will change with the speech capabilities (due to age) of your grandchild!

Congratulations by the way!

I would like my mom (if she was still alive) as a great grandparent called Nana. And if i had a daughter or son that was having a son called me MeeMa or Mama...cause i called my grandma mama when i was so little everyone thought it was cute

You can be called anything you'd like, but be aware that if there are two of you with the same name, the child is likely to change it on his/her own to lessen the confussion. My children changed a Granny to Nana and a PaPa to Popie and a Grandaddy to Grandy to make things less confusing for them. Good luck with choosing the right name, and I wish you a helathy grandbaby.

Whatever you prefer. Grandmother is fine. I've always called mine "Grandma", and that's what my daughter calls my mom now. I don't care for all the nicknames, Nana and Papa and stuff. My daughter just calls hers Grandma and Grandpa. (As well as a 2 yr. old can, anyway!)
