Why does every question get an answer that says to ask the guy at Home Depot or Lowe's (if you can find one of them)? Those people don't know theirass from a hole in the ground.
If those guys knew anything, they wouldn't be working at Home Depot for eight bucks an hour, now would they?

This obviously a store to store problem. You can walk into a chain MCBurger joint that is clean enough to eat off the floors, then go across town to the same chain and find a cockroach breeding grounds. Same with HD. In Jax Fla we have 5 . There are good ones and terrible ones. Don`t just blame the ASSociates. It`s the supervisors who place the personnal with fertilizer experience in the electrical department.

I disagree.
When I wanted to paint my office with a specific color to match a Tropicana rose bush that I had, I went to HD. Three guys were there helping me mix it to just the right color. If not for them, I would not have ended up with the right shade. They knew more than I did about how a paint will look after it dries. For an amateur like me, it made quite a difference. I get many compliments on that color.
I've also got good advice in other areas, like when I rented equipment from them and bought the material to blow insulation into the attic in my "new" home. They've helped me to learn how to clean and maintain my wood floors...lawn maintenance...the list goes on.
The people I have met there are well-trained, experienced, polite, and eager to help.

Generally I've found the staff at Home Depot knowledgeable, IF you can flag one down to ask them something. Whenever I see one they're usually surrounded by several befuddled couples waiting to ask questions. I think the box stores are way under-staffed. The guy at Wal-Mart knew how to mix the paint but had never heard of floor filler. Hmmmm....

What's wrong with you. Did the Home Depot fire you for being stupid? Did you tell a customer to go to Lowes? Or are you just angry at the world for no obvious reason?
