Just how wide open is the border that we have to do fences and everything else to close it?

Border security is so lax that you can bring an elephant across with a Mariachi band playing away. Literally

McALLEN — After his first trip to South Texas, a Pennsylvania congressional candidate was back home Wednesday sharing quite a tale, having chased an undocumented immigrant on foot one day and strolled the bank of the Rio Grande with three elephants and a blaring mariachi band the next.

All, of course, documented for a campaign commercial.

"Border security is a major issue in my district and I wanted to see firsthand the situation and I came away utterly shocked at the state of insecurity that our border is in," said Raj Peter Bhakta, 30, a Philadelphia Republican whose previous claim to fame was being fired from the reality TV show "The Apprentice."

Bhakta, a first-generation American citizen, said he was in Brownsville on Monday and Tuesday with the idea of demonstrating a porous border by videoing himself with elephants near a desolate area of the Rio Grande. But he said he upped the ante with a six-member mariachi band after witnessing an undocumented immigrant swim across the river under an international bridge.

Bhakta said he chased the immigrant with a camera in tow. Even though authorities apprehended the immigrant, he said he was "utterly shocked" that someone could cross so easily.

These three elephants were part of a video shoot by a Pennsylvania congressional candidate at Brownsville.

"I thought to myself, 'Well, if this guy can come right across under the nose of the immigration post, I bet I can get an elephant across, I bet I could get an elephant across with a mariachi band strutting away, welcoming my arrival to America,'" he said...

Can I just say, I can NOT wait to actually see this commercial!!
An elephant and a mariachi band crossing the border, I'm telling you the thought is cracking me up. But to be serious it is a sad state of affairs when it has gotten to this point. Are we really "policing our border"??

to procure me. i'm a liberal democrat or perhaps I understand that it rather is crucial that we close the border at as quickly as! that's ridiculous. My question is - why did no longer Bush (an extremely conservative president) do this? Is he making a residing off of the border matters? that's the only reason i can think of of that this situation nonetheless maintains to be. there's a gaping entire in the Republican get jointly because of this administration for many motives and that's one in all them. besides the undeniable fact that, Lou Dobbs isn't precisely known for being credible so i'd verify out some extra materials with regard to the different applicants on the border matters....

Pennsylvania Home of Hazelton The First US town to Pass Stiff penalties for Illegals. It's pretty Sad when a Political candidate from Pennsylvania has to Bring Attention to our Unsecured borders. I wouldn't Vote for Anyone from one of the Border states Unless I saw that person on TV daily complaining about the Lack of Security on our border.

If they put a bounty on illegals , wont take long to secure the border.
