How do I burn from my DVR hard drive onto DVD Recordable disks?
I have a cable co DVR setup, and also standard dvd player connected to the TV input. I have shows on my DVR hard drive I want to burn to DVD. How would I install a recordable DVD into the setup to enable this? I assume the dvd recordable machine would just replace the dvd player, but how / where would it be connected?

Simplest and most direct (probably temporary): Output from the DVR (video and audio) would be input for the DVD Recorder. You could use the yellow (composite), white and red RCA output jacks wired directly to the corresponding jacks on the DVR ... and this would give acceptable results. Better results would be obtained with S-video for the video signal (audio the same), or using optical digital for the audio (if available). Best picture would be component video (3 RCA jacks coded blue, green and red), if available. In each case the cable would go between the appropriate output jacks on the DVR to the identical type of jack on the DVD recorder. (There is also the possibility of DVI or HMDI, but since results are unlikely to be better than component it probably isn't worth buying the cables for this unless you already have them.)
Permanent: You will need to be able to switch the signal from going to the TV to going to the DVD Recorder. This may require a switch box with suitable jacks for the type of connection you want to use (composite, S-video, component). Or you can use an audio-video receiver to do the switching if you have one.
Depending on the box you use you might be able to use an IEEE firmware cable, a parallel cable, a dvd recorder, or an external hard drive that can connect to a DVR and computer.
i bought a dvd burner from radio shack about $100 hooks right up .burns off the dvr (direct tv ). i have to play the show to burn it. you can put about 6 hours per disk. easy.
examine on the producer internet site in the event that they have an improve firmware that may help DVD-R. If not and your burner dont help burning DVD-R in any respect there is not lots you're able to do yet purchase yet another one. right this moment customarily DVD burner comes extremely much less costly.
