They are wonderful and it's amazing how they fit all the little parts to create such immaginative toys inside those little yellow containers inside the chocolate!

I have an extensive collection since I knew a flight attendant who would go to Germany a couple times a month and bring them back for me. I even got a KinderEgg advent calendar one year that had toys from the movie, the Polar Express.

Here are a couple of sites although it's becoming harder to get them in the US as the FDA has banned them: seems they think our kids are of a lesser intelligence and will eat the toys inside which ofter contain small parts, but take it from me: those little capsules are NOT easy to open and cannot be accidentally spilled or eaten. In any case, just don't give them to children under the age of three. Good luck, and have fun!

I'm from Western Canada, and can't understand why no one is importing them from Germany. They are called "Kinder Surprize" and the outer egg is made from the most fabulous chocolate with a milky lining. The toys are awesome also, most often they are little things for kids to put together - and come in series. They also have special ones for holidays. They also have a chocolate bar out, called Bueno (but it's not great), and these milky chocolate candies, which are really good. The Kinder Surprizes cost about a dollar each, but you can get them in three-packs for cheaper. We went through a lot of these in my house for my son as he was growing up!
Sorry, I can't help you with ordering info, or anything. You should be able to google them.

It's an egg-shaped chocolate with a surprise inside. Kinder is the German word for child (like Kindergarten). Parthenon foods appears to sell them to U.S. customers. See link below.

I know in England that a Kinder egg is a foil wrapped chocolate shell (like a cadbury egg) that has a small prize inside - but i have no idea how to order them
