Does a child have the father's blood and not the mothers? Is that why they do a paternity test on the father?

Can a mother prove she is a child's blood mother with the same test?

What they're testing for is DNA, not whose blood it is. A paternity test is done because while it's obvious who the mother is, it's not always as obvious who the father is unfortunately

No, they test the father because they assume the mother would know if she gave birth to the child.

Children do not get a parent's blood, their bodies make their own. They may share a blood type, but that is not the parents actual blood.

They test using genetic code or material. If testing for both parents, they use different parts of the genetic material to see if there is a match. If the parts match, the parent and child are deemed to match. Most paternity tests are done by scrapping the inside of your mouth with a small swab. Hope this helps.

If a woman had to really prove that she was a child's mother, she could do so with the same test. The way the test works is to compare the gene markers between the two samples.
A child's genetic makeup will be a combination of the father and the mother.

The child has both parents DNA. They do a paternity test on one parent or the pther to identify the DNA that matches. All the DNA a child has will either match moms or dads. It happens at conception. The sperm carries dna and so does the egg. When they meet and create a baby, that child takes on different genes or traits of both parents. That is where the dna comes from.
In answer to your question... the test can be done on either parent, but why would a mother need to have one done? I think she would remember/have proof that she delivered a child. It's only if a woman steals a baby that she would get busted if they did a test. But, women who do that are sick in the head. They shoudl be taken out and shot for taking someone else's baby. Anyone who can do that is a horrible excuse of a person.

Yes usually when they give a paternity test to a father the mother is tested too.
