Why are so many people against the holidays?

We took Christ out of Christmas, now it's Happy Holidays.
We took God out of the Schools, now they are running ammuck.
We have now decided to take the Pilgrims and Indians out of Thanksgiving and make it a show down.
To little kids are we not making things just a little too harsh, the world is harsh, yes, but this is getting really out of control.
And people are very sad and unhappy anymore, the jobs aren't there because "we didn't want to work" and we don't.
The kids are a mess because mom and dad are both having to work.
Things are way to expensive and there is no end in sight, but our checks aren't getting any better.
What can we do to make it better and easier for our children and their children to live in this mess we have made for them.
Have any suggestions as to how to make the holidays better and regain some of the old traditions that came from years ago?
Just thinking.....

I think the degree to what the public has made holidays is disgraceful. Whether people believe or not(I'm a believer/Christian) they shouldn't take Jesus out of Christmas and the Christian heritage of the Pilgrims out of Thanksgiving just because they want to.

It is a mess, and all because of Women's Lib, Greed and politically correct crap. Don't offend any one that has come to this country, they don't have to adapt, no, we have to change.
Stores should be closing on Christmas eve at 6 pm and stay closed until the 27.th. The non Christians can shop in their own nationality stores which could open. But the retail industry and the stockholder would be screaming hell and high water because that greedy bunch would be losing too much money, The world is ruled by greed and corruption and I cannot see an end to it coming. Christmas eve, the family should be going to church, the only thing happening at the church should be reading of Luke, you know "the shepherds etc" and Christmas carols should be sung. Then go home have a nice dinner and go to bed. And then you have 2 Christmas days to visit the in-laws and the out-laws or have them over for dinner. Anyway that's the way I used to spend my Christmases past.

Holidays are a pretty stressful time for many people. They spend too much & have so much more to do than at other times. I think it especially happens as a person gets older. They've lost the energy needed to cope or they have physical illnesses which makes it difficult for them.

3 yrs ago my family decided to stop giving gifts to each other except for the children. We take turns choosing a charity & all of the adults give the selector $25 which is sent to the charity of that person's choice. Some give more if they are able to do so. We all feel good about this & no one misses receiving gifts. We believe that it is in the true spirit of Christmas.

Well, the real Christmas isn't about Christ..it started about a thousand years before he showed up so that answers the first part..
God in schools is tough because to me it is all gods, even the abscense of one so I can't help you with that one..
And you are right about everything else..
I tell my daughter about the original meaning of the holidays and then evolve it to what it has become today and that really takes the pressure off..

Here's a suggestion: Stop being so negative about the world. That will help a lot.
