Didn't McCain admit he was wrong for voting against MLK holiday?
John McCain is from Arizona ( well kinda) Arizona was the last state to declare a holiday for MLK Jr's birthday, it was more of a practical matter, as AZ has less than one half of one percent Black population, it wasn't viewed as something that needed to have money thrown at it ( this was the rationale at the time in AZ, I am from there).
The NFL pulled superbowl 27 from Phoenix and sent it to the rose bowl until AZ wised up and passed an MLK holiday, Az, standing to lose billions, relented and passed the holiday.

If he didn't or hasn't yet, he ought to.
Being an Arizonan myself, I am utterly mortified that this state has such a shameful track record concerning this holiday.
And I'm disgusted by McCain's past actions (and inactions) in efforts to keep this holiday from being recognized by his home state.

Not only did McCant but others like him voted against MLK Holiday. But who care, we got the holiday anyway. You can take it or leave it. Black people are aware of how others feel about MLK Day. They can call it whatever they like. We shall overcome!

I did early 2008 in Memphis. It was actually kinda cool how the crowd accepted his apology.

simply by fact he grow to be a significant guy who gave his final breath combating for the equality of blacks. yet i think that may no longer as significant to a pair. perhaps if he wins we would have a nationwide KKK day could that make a number of you chuffed. Why have fun a guy who needed existence to be effortless for each individual no longer purely our effortless pores and skin brothers and sisters. it is pathetic for it to be argued.

This guy is a liar and a hypocrite. Anyone who would believe him enough to vote for him as the leader of the country deserves whatever happens if he gets in office.

I don't think any person deserves a federal holiday in their honor. There are a tremendous number of Americans of all races who have done a great deal of positive influence.
I say do away with all federal holidays.

He's a fiscal conservative. One who sees cost in everything. Like New National Holidays, regardless their importance.

"I was wrong" or "I'm sorry" don't always correct a situation. It took him twenty years to publicly admit it. The man's a bigot.
