How much more time?

My daughter is preg. her Ultrasound measures her at 34 weeks. Saturday she had the white glob of mucous not bloody . How much time usually till birth after you lose the first mucous? Or is it the plug. ( I can't remember and my children were premies)

Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labor. Losing your mucous plug does not always mean labor will begin shortly. Keep in mind that even if a woman has begun to dilate, it may be weeks before she actually goes into labor. However, if you notice blood tinged mucous before your thirty-sixth week of pregnancy, notify your doctor right away. As your body prepares for labor your cervix will begin to dilate and thin. As your cervix opens up, your mucous plug may fall out. Losing your mucous plug is a good sign that labor is on its way. Though, it could be days or even weeks after you lose your mucous plug before labor actually starts. Many women do not lose their mucous plug at one time; instead, they lose it more gradually. They may notice an increase in vaginal secretions weeks before they go into labor.

My son is 5 years old and I'm preg with #2 now! with my son I lost my mucous plug and 3 days later had him! I think it just depends on when her body is ready so just watch her closely and if she goes anywhere alone, have her take a cell phone in case labor starts! My mom and husband wouldn't let me out of their sight!!! Congratulations and I hope all goes well, I can't wait till I'm that close to having this one =)

I was told by my doctor that women don't usually go into labor for at least a week or two after losing the mucus plug.

Any time now, and good luck Grandma, hold her hand, rub her back and don't cry. Let us know what she has... Congrats!.... I love my Grandson... he's 3yrs, and my best bud.
