There are so many choices. I have a Mac computer so keep that in mind. I am looking for a fairly larger than normal screen. My eyesight isn't that good so I don't like small screens. I would want something of at least 5 -6megapixels. Plus a movie mode and plenty of memory.
I don't want a beginners camera but somewhere in the intermediate. Easy to use and printing 5x7's and possibly 8x10's occasionally. Many of my friends have Canons. The size of the camera is not that important. It doesn't have to be so small to fit in a thimble. I can spend upwards to $450. Thanks .

There's a lot of in-depth testing of a lot of cameras. The Canon powershot A640 got a pretty good writeup. 10MP, 2.5" LCD screen, and movie mode. Price looks to be in the $300 range.
With your budget and what you want, the 2 best cameras out there are the: 1) Canon Powershot S3 2)Sony Cybershot DSC-H5
Both are in your price range IF you buy online. Buy the CAMERA at butterflyphoto.com, and any media you need at BHphotovideo.com. I have bought several cameras from butterfly, and media and lenses from B&H. Both are reputable and have GREAT prices. I prefer Canon, but my mom just got the Cybershot and she loves it. The Sony has a LARGE LCD screen on the back, which is perfect for her, because like you, she has bad eyesight. It also has 7.1 MP which is more than Canon. Good luck and have fun! The Kodak line is very good and has a lot of variety for decent prices. They are also some of the easiest to use and the software works with the MAC. In addition they have a "Camera Dock" available which will charge the battery, allow you to download to your computer, and even prints 5X7 single prints. The software allows you to crop, eliminate redeye, enhance the image and many other things. They have models ranging up to 10 Megapixels and with optical zoom ranges up to 10 or 12X. You can purchase from stores or directly from the website at: www.kodak.com.
I tell this to everyone, make sure it's a Canon! My entire family has only Canons, no Kodaks or Sonys... Pick from this link here and then look it up on BH Photo, they sell cameras cheaper than most stores and sell some with special kits!
