I was told that there use to be a zoo, possibly very small, located around Ben Davis HS. Person who ran it still has some of the monkeys and chimps but does not live in the area. This is NOT the Indianapolis Zoo on Washington St.

The house I believe you are speaking of is directly across the street from Ben Davis High School on Girls School Rd. It is a very large home with a high fence around the property.
I'm not sure if they ever opened their yard to the public. We always thought the owner was an exotic pet owner.
But I remember sitting in class, looking out the window to that home across the street. Many times you could see llamas, ostriches, etc. The owner cut the grass with a riding lawn mower, and was often seen with a monkey riding with him.
I still drive by it many times. It's been several years since I've seen any animals.

yah i also heard about a zoo there, but i think it was removed.
