Sorry Bboy int, sadly I made the mistake of giving your answer a poor rating.Yes, you are right.Personal choice of the old Muscle Cars is great.I owned several. A 1970 Ford Mustang Mach1 GT350 a 1967 Pontiac GTO, a 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 R/T My Fav was the R/T It had a 440cubic inch V8 Automatic It would do 13's at the quarter mile drags purely stock

I had a beautiful 1967 Oldsmobile 442 that just kicked @ss on street and drag strip! Pure stock, 13.02 sec. in 1/4th mile. SUPER BAD!! No headers, no gear, no slicks, just brute horsepower. Beat Z-28s, Mustangs, GTXs, RTs, AMXs, Road Runners, GTOs, SS 396 Chevelles & Cameros, Corvettes, and nearly everything else. Made people mad, embarassed, cry, want to fight. What great fun!
400 cubic inches, 350 horsepower, 3:42 gear ratio, 4 speed. Got such a bad @ss reputation that it became hard to get anyone to race me! What a car

I like the '69 Camaro Z-28. It has an oversquare, solid-lifter 302. A high revving engine (for a pushrod engine). I liked it better than the SS's. It is what I wanted my 307 to be.
If you extend your question to the early 70's, you will find a lot of support for the Hemi Cuda/Challenger. They are rare and going for ridiculous prices at auctions now.
mister ss
there were so many good ones it's hard to pick just one but all the dodges and plymouths with the 426 hemi, the roadrunners and super bees with the 6 pack engine, the yenko camaro's the SS 396 chevelles, Boss 429 mustang, the list goes on and on.
