My mother had a tubular pregnancy many years ago - she had none of the pains you described, by the time she felt pain her tube had burst and she was immobilized by the pain. I think your daughter will be fine if the doctor says so.. Congratulations Grandma!!!(or grandpa??)

I wouldn't worry about tubal pregnancy as her doctor would have ruled that out with the ultrasound.

I am 10 weeks pregnant now but when I was 5-7 weeks I had the worst urinary tract infection I have ever had. I found that my bladder constantly ached and when I emptied it, it was agony.

Pains in your lower abdomen in early pregnancy are very common. I have had heaps this time (my 4th pregnancy) and even though I know they are normal, I still worry. I stressed out heaps in the beginning thinking I had an ectopic pregnancy but it turned out to be my UTI. The doctor prescribed antibiotics and after taking the whole course, it went away (thank god!). Cranberry juice also lessened the symptoms before I could see the doctor.

Also pain in the lower left side can be caused by constipation as this is where the bowel lies. If she is constipated, she needs to eat more fibre or go the the pharmacy and ask what medication is suitable for a pregnant woman. There are a few things they could give her to try.

Good luck to you and your daughter. I am sure it will all be fine.

Calm down. They stuck the UTI fairly early, and that is well. Your child will likely be excellent, so long as you're taking the antibiotic prescribed for you. I had a UTI (which placed me within the sanatorium for three days) prior in my being pregnant, and I had that unhealthy soreness in my stomach, as good. It went away as soon as the contamination cleared up (besides for the random sharp pains I get as a result of the child relocating round or my uterus being stretched). Trust your surgeon; they might have advised you if whatever was once fallacious with the child. You'll be excellent, as will the child.

That type of pain is caused by the urinary tract infection. Make sure she takes her antibiotics. There is no reason to suspect anything wrong with her baby.

No need to worry, the ultrasound would have picked up the tubal pregnancy if there was one, the pain she's having is from the UTI.
