In countryside there was a couple who had a beautiful daughter name Alice. Two men wanted to marry Alice and approached the couple. Couple conditioned that we would marry our daughter with the person who is having hundred dollars. One of the men had 99 dollars while the other men had nothing with him. Both approached different persons in their village and requested to lend them money. 

The one who had nothing could collect 99 dollars while the one who had 99 dollars could not collect any dollar and is left with dollar 99 only. 

If you were in place of parents of Alice, and had to choose any one of the men, whom would you recommend? The one having 99 dollars of his own or the one who could borrow 99 dollars from villagers?

the one who borrowed 99 dollars from the villagers.... even though he didn't have money.... it meant that villagers trusted that he would repay them the 99 dollars... maybe the other one never repays cuz he couldn't even borrow a dollar...or he never even tried hard compared to the one who borrowed 99

first i wouldn't sell my daughter, but if i had to choose id choose the one who had his own 99 dollars. so he can earn his own money to look after my daughter.

The ones with no money,and begging for,could let your daughter life - miserables  later,but he have great courage and likely likes the girl very much.
