Look up Durham, N.C., District Attorney Mike Nifong and his handling of the alleged rape that occurred at a Duke University lacrosse tournament. He is facing various ethics charges for his involvement.
Clarence Thomas, a Supreme Court Justice, was involved in some drama earlier in his career. Do a google search for the specific details.
The Bush Administration, and Alberto Gonzalez in particular, is involved in some serious controversy over the firing of eight federal prosecutors who weren't "loyal Bushies" (their words!)
As for other examples, you may want to consult Wikipedia or a search engine for lawyers who have been disbarred due to their actions.
