Yahoo messenger bots, holes and hacks??

Question

You know how when one of your buddies logs in or out, it will flash a notification on the right hand side of the task bar? Ok, my problem is that apparently my screen name ends up being notified on many random "non-buddy" taskbars as logging in or out. I have at least 2 instant messages a day from guys I have never heard of asking me ASL. Upon asking how they got my screen name I am told they saw me log on, or either they saw me in a yahoo chat room....(I don't use yahoo chat rooms). How can this happen if I am not on their buddy list? I knew you used to could boot folks from messenger, and I have heard of bots, and I can't but wonder if someone is using my screen name as a bot while I am online. This has been going on for about a year. I have noticed this though, I mostly get the strange i.m.'s after I have been idle for a bit...as if somehow being idle for a long time throws my screen name out there as "just signing in". Anyone who can give me more info, I'd surely appreciate it.

No, I have never been bumped out of messenger from someone else using my screen name. I don't think someone else has my password. I believe its either a glitch somewhere, or its been "botted". I don't think you have to have passwords with bots..I could be wrong though...

Its a glitch , it used to be if you had multiple ID's on one name as in many profiles on one yahoo ID it would show people on your list all your names when you logged in and out . Anyway its just a glitch and you can make a few changes which will fix ya up . You are not on thier lists they just see your name and wonder who you are as well silly boyz are annoying just ignore them .

FIrst goto sign in to yahoo and goto your profile or all of them . Then click edit profile and scroll to the bottom and click ok . Now you will be at a second edit page , there you see Tick this to HIDE my online status . Always tick that to hide 

Second go into your yahoo messenger main window top tab
Messenger - Preferences - General , untick ALL the stuff on there click apply then o k .

Last i can think of right now is goto Privacy tab and tick ON always sign in as invisible ( just go visible either by stealth settings for your friends lists or turn off invisible a few minutes after you read your offlines etc ) also in there UNTICK allow yahoo websites to show when im online . Click apply then o k .

Now if you are always signed in invisible only showing to your friends by using the stealth settings and with those other things disabled it should not be a problem anymore , As far as if someone is using your ID that is very doubtful as i recognize this problem many ask the same thing .

Do not accept files from people , do not click links people give you and do not open emails with attachments . Then you wont get back doord and your pw will be fine . Changing it every few months does nothing as most people who get thiers stolen its cuz they have a trojan allowing the kiddy script hacker to see what you type as well your saved pw's .
Just have a good long pw with numbers and letters that is not easily cracked and dont give people your birthday pets name zip code etc . Also be careful for fake yahoo sign in pages usually from peoples profiles .

Never seen a bot in Yahoo! Messenger.... not in chat rooms, I think the bots outnumber people about 100 to one (or at least they did about a year ago - haven't been in chats since then)

someone knows your password and goes on ur messenger name , change ur password at least every 3 months to keep this from happening
