About my cat's sagging tummy??

I have a one year old female cat who we got fixed when she was about 3-4 months old. Now her tummy hangs about 3 inches down. My guess is that she weighs about 8lbs. She's not overweight or anything. Is this normal for a fixed female cat?? thanks.

yes, this is perfectly normal, and is quite common after a female is fixed.

Does your cat get enough exercise?
Is she overweight?
When you feel her tummy, are there any lumps in it?

If your cat gets enough exercise & she's not overweight & you can't feel anything in there that shouldn't be, don't worry about it.

Some cats just have pretty loose skin there. We had a little kitty that weighed maybe 6 pounds during the summer. She wasn't wormy, ate well, got lots & lots of exercise, had a clean bill of health & a swinging tummy. It was normal for her.

If you are still worried, a trip to the vet & the subsequent fee would be worth easing your mind. ;)

It must be normal because my 3-year-old female has had a sagging tummy since I got her spayed. She is very active & plays a lot & weighs a little over 8 lbs. You can tell when you touch it that its just extra skin. No fat or anything in there.

It's normal for a fixed cat most likely your cat is not that active. My two fixed cats have the same sagging tummy.

Both of my fixed femal cats have the sagging tummy. The larger one seems to have the largest sagging tummy... Its normal..
