my SO has been distant and cold. he pulls away when i put my arms around him. he acts like my touch is the equivalent of getting sprayed with acid. he's been through a lot lately and i guess this is his way of dealing with it. pushing me away. what can i do?

I guess that the best thing to do is just talk to him about it. Ask him what's wrong. I'm sure it is nothing personal.

You really need to find out why he feels like this. It could be the things he has gone through lately, or it could be something else. You can't really know how to address the problem until you know exactly what the problem is. I wish you luck.

give him the spacce...your being sweet and caring only annoys him...and will soon annoy you too...which will only lead to more troubles.....right now...you really cant do anything except to tell him,,,,that you support anything he wants to do...and that...you will be there when he needs you...he will hear it ...but he wont respond now...just be patient and things will be better soon...i hope

give him som space, this is like swimming and this is un-explored water, you dont want to rush right in and end up hitting you head. he probably does love you, but hes scared, and before you tell him that he needs to admit it to himself.
